While at the Smokies this past summer, I had the chance to test drive the Ram SRT pickup (thanks to Laddie, Bob and the Chrysler gang). It has the Viper engine in it that produces 500 hp. What a machine - and it handles awesome. I have never thought of myself as a "pickup truck" guy, but this is more than a pickup.

The Viper Club of America arranged to have a special run of 50 of these trucks made in Viper Blue with white stripes and were having a draw to determine who received the opportunity to buy one of these. Well, I got the call today from the Club telling me my name was selected. Awesome - I can't wait to get this machine. As part of the deal, I will be going down to Daytona where the 50 trucks will be delivered to participate in the pace car activites of the Dodge Truck Series 200 at Daytona Speedway. Also included are special passes to the Daytona 500. This is going to be awesome.

Wayne - cool truck. You going to make it a "tow" truck. Maybe you can buy another Prowler and paint it the same color blue!

My son and I were just talking about that today. I already have a Viper that color - wouldn't that look sweet in a picture side by side by side

Daryl..remember that silver cars are always fastest. lol

I also own a black F-150 Harley-Davidson truck. It's a bear to keep clean but when it is...wow!

I think the SRT will look good in ANY color.

Wayne.......Congrats! The truck is very reminiscent of the 1996 Dodge Ram Indy Truck which was the Official Truck of the Indy 500 that year. The Viper, of course was the pace vehicle. We were living in Cincy then and Bob did a dealer drive-away at the track. There were 154 Ram Indy Trucks that dealers came to drive back to their dealerships. It was several days of activities, photo sessions and driving on the track. The very first pre-production truck was used for color mastering, etc. and Bob was driving the truck as his company vehicle. It was then the first Indy truck sold to the public (me). Since I'd had the opportunity to drive it while he had it, I loved the truck and he bought it for me.

I thought it was interesting that the SRT10 paint scheme was just like the Viper and Ram Indy Truck, so I thought you might enjoy these pictures.

Lined up on Pit Row!! My truck was the last one in the left hand row!

Pretty cool!

Awesome truck. I would buy one if it was a 4X4 I can't see buying a pickup without it! If i buy a 2 wheel drive i like the looks of the SSR better! More of a Hot Rod! Bring it up to Niagara so we can all go for a ride. Will they allow you to sit people in the back in canada? They won't here in CT!
