Does it have the same power rating as your truck? Any other cars coming with the Hemi?

I know about the cylindrical piston domes and racing heritage of the hemis in the '60's/early '70's. However, I have very limited mechanical knowledge overall.

Are the NEW hemis by DC really something special or it is a marketing gimmick? Are the blocks too heavy like in the '70's, etc.?

I know the hemi hp in the Durango is slightly less than in the Ram, 335hp i think. Not sure on the 300.

We already have a Hemi Ram. It has 345 HP and 375 lb ft torgue. The Durango is 335 HP and 365 lb ft of torgue. I suspect the car will be tuned for less because both of the others are heavy vehicles.

From Chrysler website:

2005 CHRYSLER 300C

Primary Paint: Bright Silver Metallic Clear Coat Exterior Paint
Paint Procedure: Monotone Paint
Interior Trim: Dark Slate Gray/Light Graystone Seating
Seats: Luxury Leather Trimmed Low-Back Bucket Seats

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With its 340 horsepower, 5.7-liter Hemispheric engine, the legendary 2005 300C has enough power to loan out to friends. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) tailors throttle response to pedal movement based on operating conditions, and a Multiple Displacement System deactivates four of the eight cylinders while using cruise control or during light acceleration to save on fuel consumption like a V6. But 300C isn't just about power; in addition to standard exterior luxury features like 18-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, and chrome exterior accents on the door handles, mirrors and fascias, 300C includes standard interior luxury features like premium leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats, an Electronic Vehicle Information Center, and a memory feature for the radio, driver's seat and mirrors. With available options such as SIRIUS Satellite Radio, a sun roof, and the UConnect(TM) hands-free communication system, what more could you ask for?(C)2003 SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Inc.

Base Price: $32,370.00

Sounds good--a lot like my 2003 Jaguar S-Type-R Only difference is Jag is around 400HP and Twice the price! Sounds like it should be a nice car for the money.

A guy here in Ga was told it would be 45K. As with the Prowlers the dealers don't know squat. Decemeber 2002 I went in and told them I could order a RAM 1500 with a Hemi. They say I couldn't for at least 3 months. I insisted they check and they come back and say I was right. The pricing I got on the 300C was direct from chrysler.com . The price I ran was for a top of the line 300C with very few options left not already icluded in the package. Thing like special wood trim , sun roof , cold weather engine heater etc. This car I priced was loaded.

Chuck I am sure it won't be long before you can get some performance upgrades.

The new Hemi is the real deal not just marketing. There was an article in Hot Rod that described the details. Sorry I do not have it close by. Today I had some fun. Ran it up from 65 to 100 in the snap of a finger; I had to pass a truck, well maybe a few trucks.
