Just saw on another board where John passed away Christmas......I had a '71 'CUDA - 440 6BBL several years back that he had built the engine for....he was a legend in northern Indiana...he had been in a coma for a long while due to a race track related accident a while back....

We are sad to announce that John Lingenfelter, founder of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, passed away yesterday,
December 25th, 2003. John had been in a semi-comatose state since November 2002 when he entered into a coma during
surgery that was necessary due to a racing accident in Pomona, California in October 2002. Lingenfelter Performance

That is so sad to hear.

John Lingenfelter was a very down to earth guy, and not one of those that walked around with a chip on his shoulder despite his accomplishments, and knowledge.
I feel priviledged having met him personally.

Thanks "Tangled" and "Laddie" for offering this info. I too am saddened by this . He will be truly missed by all the performance minded. He was an inovator and was very helpful to all.
