....there are certain movies that seem to catch my attention every time I see them....maybe it takes me back to my youth, a happier time or just a certain feeling....can't explain it.....*"American Graffiti"....obvious....it was the story of my youth, street racing in the Sixties was my life....fast cars and faster girls.... *every time I see Paul Newman and Robert Redford blow the box car in "Butch Cassidy", "use enough dynamite there Butch" I am back in that rocking chair theatre with a girl I thought was the only one....(she was till another one came along)....to this day I still use that phrase when I see something overdone....always watch it when ever I see it on TV.... *I still wait for the scenes of Dustin Hoffman chasing after Katherine Ross in "the Graduate"....what a sound track("Sounds of Silence" was like magic), Katherine Ross, what a girl !!! these days even Mrs. Robinson looks good *"Apacolypse Now"....or in my case, what did you do in the 1970s'.....a time of insanity.....can't let go of this one when it is on.... *" Pulp Fiction"....A movie with John Travolta and Samuel Jackson a few years back....they were assasins....had a most unusual soundtrack.....some surf music....ALWAYS WATCH THIS ONE...one of my all time favorites... * Terminator" movies always get my attention even though I have seen the shows many times thru the years.... *remember "Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry"....Ms. George was quite enough to keep my attention till the MOPAR took over the show....this movie and "Two Lane Blacktop" are both similar in many respects.....like to see all the period cars and styles..... *and of course my first "car" movie......"THUNDER ROAD"...loved to watch Robert Mitchum wheel that '57 Ford around the dirt roads and crash the roadblocks......he did spend too much time hanging around Keeley Smith for a young kid like me to bear....I just wanted to see that Ford go !!!

Larry, we could have double dated to most of your choices."Graduate"...a classic, but I always wished there was directors cut somewhere! "Animal House"..always stop to watch when I'm channel surfing. "Blues Bros"...love the music, the attitudes and Belushi and Akroyd. Looks like "feel good" is the main theme here.

There is nothing like a good comedy! Ones that really stand out are all the Vacation movies with Chevy Chase and the best one of all-Planes,trains and automobiles with John Candy(remember hand between two pillows...)

Uh... I seem to recall a scene with Ms Ross in Butch and Sundance that had my young eyes riveted to the screen...

since it is chrismas time what about them..........don't you watch them????????????????Yes, love the car action movies and some old westerns BUT WHAT ABOUT Christmas? It is a Wonderful Life. I watch it every year. This year Sue and I were watching it and the commercials when I told her, "WHY ARE WE DOING THIS" (watching with commercials) " we have it on VHS & DVD". I guess it has something to do with knowing you are watching it with millions of other people. AND what about the all time CLASSIC THE WIZARD OF OZ? OK say you have never seen it, tell me you have not seen it over 10 to 30 times. what is your favorite Christmas movie?

I really like WAKING NED DEVINE which is about an Irish guy winning the Irish Sweepstakes but dying before he knows he won. The town decides to keep his death a secret and collect the money. Some pretty funny scenes. I also like AS GOOD AS IT GETS with Jack Nicholson and Greg Kinear. FIELD OF DREAMS is another great movie but a little long and drug out at first. Some of the others that you all mentioned, American Graffiti, Sleepless in Seattle, The Graduate etc.

How about Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase, it is that time of year. My family is coming over for the holidays, and some of the guest will watch it, even if they don't want to, HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all.

Nobody's mentioned The Green Mile? I think that's the name of it. With Tom Hanks as a prison guard. Which reminds me of another couple... Gump and Apollo 13.
