From the website,
"We expect a price somewhere between a Porsche and a Ferrari."

Interesting Al - can we believe what they are telling us? Pretty impressive figures they are releasing in regards to performance.

I tend to be a little skeptical about such claims from a company without manufacturing funding. $2K initial deposit and $18K due when a production date given. I wonder.....

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and the new bride!

It isn't bad for a kit car (which is what it is) but, at a cost greater the a Porsche and less then a Ferrari, there are alot of other cars I'd pick first.

Of course, it would be the fastest golf cart out there ...hummmmm......

They showcased this car on the ScreenSavers show which airs on TechTV last week. I just turned it on at the end of the show, didn't get to see much.

A/C..I happen to know this company and the guys who run it. They did a project for VW a few years ago, and I can tell you their electric motors are unbelieveable! We had one in a VW Golf with 0-60 sprints in the 6 second bracket! When you drive a car with one of these motors in it you can't believe the acceleration! It snaps your neck and sits you upright in your seat. I don't know much about the car they are producing, but I do know they have alot of backing from the industry in general and I would think it will be a quality product for someone willing to spend the dollars for a unique electric vehicle

Jim - thanks for bringing us up to date on the builders. Still,,,I would think that laying out $20K before getting the car produced is rather risky. I guess the underfunded and mismanaged DeLoren and Bricklin companies come to mind. Who knows,,,,maybe we will see an electric car at the drag strips running in the low 10's someday?

Thanks for the well wishes Larry-the same to you and yours.
With battery technology constantly improving, electric cars may not be that far off or far fetched. At this point though, I can't see them replacing dino fuel for long distance travel unless they can come up with a generator that's more efficient or at least close to the drive unit--charge and drive at the same time. For performance use, electric power has the advantage of instant torque. In the model boat world, an electric boat has recently set the top speed record beating out gasoline and nitromethane/alcohol powered boats in straight-a-way competition. The boat has to make two consecutive passes, right to left and left to right through two beams distanced at 1/16 of a mile and the two speeds are averaged. The average speed was over 120 with the second pass over 122.

I'd get one... but 50 mile range sucks!
