Before forwarding this, I tested it by typing my telephone number in google.com. My phone number came up, and when I clicked on the MapQuest link, it actually mapped out where I live. Quite scary. Please look up your own number. Read below for details. Think about it--if a child, single person, ANYONE gives out his/her phonenumber, someone can actually now look it up to find out where he/she lives.The safety issues are obvious, and alarming. This is not a hoax; MapQuest will put a star on your house on your street. In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to: http://www.google.com Type your phone number in the search bar with dashes (i.e. 555-555-1212)and hit enter. If you want to BLOCK Google from divulging your private information, simply click on the telephone icon next to your phone number. I removed my name, but it takes 48-hours. If you are unlisted in the phone book, you might not be in there, but it is a good idea just to check. Please forward on to friends and family

I don't know if they still do. It listed everyone's name in that household. That was years ago. The computer hooks you up with the clerk of courts, (auditor) for the property listings, driver's licenses, car registrations, etc. Trust me, it is very hard to hide for very long at this point.

Our home was built in 1994 and was not on the webimage untillast year when they updated with a 2002 photo. When I checked on our office I could even see the car I used to drive parked out in front of the office. As far as google and maps of our house. Granted this could potentially be used by thiefs, crooks,etc. but it also is very convenient for friends, family and can be accessed for useful purposes. The same info has always been available elsewhere. You can call directory assistance in most cities and ask for the address of any published phone number and then plug that into Mapquest or any other mapping service on the web. ------------------ *2000 Black with hand painted blue faded to purple flames*

They are afraid of lawsuits and he could just move on due to the nursiing shortage, etc.
