Harley Davidson is holding their 100th anniversary reunion here in Milwaukee this weekend, and quite honestly I didn't really think much about it until my way home from work today. It's been reported that there will be about 250,000 bikers coming to town for a huge weekend event. I can't tell you how cool it was to see all the bikers coming in on the highways this afternoon. Spectators are lining the interstate overpasses, holding "welcome home" banners, acknowledging their arrival. Folks are smiling and waving, blowing their horns, and just having a grand old time. The roar of the engines was exhilarating to say the least. I can't honestly say that I've ever seen this much chrome before. My normal commute time was extended by quite a bit with the extra traffic, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

While I'm not a biker, I do envy these people for this weekend. They're getting to experience the same thing that our folks in the Smokies are experiencing. The comradery, the machines, the stories, the people...life at it's best. While I wish Karen and I were in the Smokies, Milwaukee will have to do.

Gonna be heading up that way in the morning for some of the HOG activities before the ultra craziness of the weekend sets in. I was selected in the lottery to have a spot in the parade for Saturday, but due to personal issues, can't make it ... would have loved to have attended and been apart of that HUGE and historic event ... oh well, will enjoy tomorrow so long as the weather holds out!

Enjoy yourself Ray. Hopefully the weather will hold out for you guys. The last forecast I heard was for a chance of widely scattered storms late in the day.

OMG ... Now I DO wish that I could have attended the Prowlin the Smokies event, and seeing the photos really looks great ... BUT ... you can't imagine the sight along the lake front in Milwaukee with THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of LOUD and awsome bikes lining street after street .. and, well ... the leather-clad women sure were easy on the eyes as well!! What a GREAT time and the weather was perrrrrrrfect too. Thank you Milwaukee!!
