The guy was caught and sentenced to death. In 1979 they declared the death penalty unconstitutional and commuted his death sentence to a life sentence. They have since reinstated the death penalty but cannot change his sentence back. This means that after 20 years served, he becomes eligible for parole. He comes up for parole every two years now. Every two years the family has to relive this tragedy in their attempts to keep him in prison. The petition is to gather as many signatures of people as we can to keep this guy behind bars. Box 13401 Austin, TX 78711-3401 This needs to be received by them no later than September 1, 2003. Please allow for postal mail accordingly... All signatures MUST be U.S. citizens! THEY MUST BE SIGNATURES, SIGNED IN INK! Print out the (2) files (they are picture files) and PLEASE get as many signatures as you can, email it to others, take it to the grocery store, the bank, to work. We need to get all the signatures we can! Thanks in advance for your help! Please, if you forward this to anyone, you should copy and paste the above info to go along with it. If you have any problems getting the files, or getting them printed up, let me know ASAP! Just curious. Yes. Any adult U.S. citizen can sign the petition. If you can't manage to get any signatures, don't let that stop you from signing it and sending it in yourself. Both you and your spouse can sign as well. Taking it to the smokies would be great, as long as it got in the mail on Tuesday. We don't want this getting there late. I heard back from my friend and WE WERE SUCCESSFUL! PAROLE WAS DENIED! And thanks to a new Texas law that allows the family to request an extension, he will not be up for parole again until 2006! I hope I can count on your help again then.
