I thought Mike K said that this site was all about free speech. However One of our members who has been this sites greatest supporters has now had his access removed. Gary C has been one of the most loyal members and no longer has permission to access it. If you would have checked the membership list of the top 25 posters Gary was usually number 1. His name no longer exists on the list and he no longer has access. So what the Hell's going on with this! Am I next to be banned. Find out tomorrow...

I can see there is a problem with Gary C and Mike. If their personal problems could not be worked out off line then someone had to go! If Mike started the site and is running it, well it makes sense to me Gary is the one to go. I'm sure if Gary could just post and contibute to the rest of us members Mike would let him stay. I never have met either gentlemen, so i can't take sides. As we all know there are 2 sides to every story. If i heard both sides i could make my decision. But what would that matter, i'm just one of the 2600 members. Maybe sometime down the road Gary C and Mike will work it out! If not then we lost a member with alot of good information JMO

Gary wasn't banished, he chose to leave on his own. Reread: http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/003333.html
He told me via e-mail he had a problem with one member that I wont name. I only heard one side of the story so I cant make any decisions based on that. Yeah, he's been a big help to the POA but if he wants to leave it's his business and if he wanted the reasons posted he would have done it himself. Again--JMO

While I am personally bothered by the fact that GaryC no longer has posting permission, I see no reason to worry about GaryC being removed. He just stated last week that he no longer wished to be part of this site, would NEVER post again and that he would NEVER attend any POA events.

I see no real problem here since GaryC and many others have signed on using another name to bypass the posting permission block. I know that GaryC can easily get back on this board if he wishes to by using an IP address that is not blocked.
I am very concerned that GaryC hasn't posted his reasons but has instead taken the low road and started on a behind the scenes and disruptive approach to his problem with the POA.
I guess the bottom line is, Mike K owns the POA site. Each and every one of us has a choice to particpate or not. If we decide to depart or how we decide to handle our departure will show the world our character.

There are always two or even more (in this case) sides to every story. I don't know all the facts but I do know of many things over the past few years that have caused me personal concern. I try to stay out of the infighting, control battles, back stabbing, personal problems and petty bull$hit that goes on behind the scenes.
I'm here for a good time and that's the way I'll keep it.

I just try to have a good time with the people I enjoy and avoid the ones that I percieve to be problems or the ones who do not care for me. It's a big site and a we can all fit in some way if we try.
I would prefer not to air the dirty laundry for all to see but maybe it's time to hear the whole truth and nothing but the truth from ALL involved.

I personally am very tired of people posting that they are leaving the site for whatever reason they may find. If I at some point decide to leave, it will be without an ego building, back patting, a$$ kissing, tearful goodbye that begs for attention from others. If I decide to leave I will quietly walk away and refrain from posting and it will be of my own free will and my own personal choice after much thought.

I agree with Larry. I see no reason to analyze the situation or place layer upon layer of speculation as to who did what for whatever reason. I have met both these gentleman, and I see no reason for concern here at the site.

I'm sure that people on this board send and receive private e-mails all the time. It's their business and not for everyone to know.
This is one of the best and most uplifting sites I've ever been involved in and I'm sure for whatever reason things happen the way they do.It's not our place to put blame or point fingers.
Let's enjoy the car and move on!

Yes, it's true Gary and I have personal issues, but now he's attempting to use the POA as an outlet to attack me and disrupt this forum. The bottom line is that he is on a mission to destroy the POA. Are you going to let him?

The Prowler and the POA site are a hobby for me. I run and maintain the POA as an outlet for people to have fun and make new friends and for the love of the Prowler. People say that this is one of the friendliest forums around and maybe there's a reason for that! If anyone is here to stir the pot or be disruptive, then you're at the wrong place! I believe we all have far too much time and friendships invested in this site to allow Gary or anyone else to continue on this course.

I choose to remove Gary's posting rights because I know how revengeful he can be... Gary once told me of a slot car board he used to frequent and how in his words "It Burned to the ground"! I wonder why?

I thought he made it perfectly clear, (in his farewell post) that he did not want to be involved and will never post again! A lot of people know about Gary and what makes him tick and I'll just leave it at that.

Mr. Cleverly is my problem and I fully intend to deal with his backstabbing, slander and defamation accordingly.

To all my Prowler friends, I thank you for your support!

Best wishes,
Mike

The actions of today will dictate the life we live in the future. In this scenario the past actions have dictated the future.

This is now the future. What has our past investment bringing forth??

Mike - I will not pretend to know all the facts behind Gary's departing and I didn't like what I read on the PP chat forum. I found degradation in their words contrary to the cause and purpose of the POA website. I'm sure,,,,no, I'm POSITIVE, that you have the full support of 99.9% of the POA associates. Many of our membership have not met you, but I can assure them that you are fare, unbiased, and a good person,,,,,,,,,,one I am proud to call a friend.

One thing that's always been interesting to me is the concept of the POA. In the beginning hours of this assoication, there was a good deal of discussion as to whether or not to pursue the "club" concept. The early-on leaders--Mike K., Larry Lord, Tony and others, elected not to go down that road. And the decision paid off.

I'm not against clubs but we've proven that no dues, no elections and yes, believe it or not, reduced politics, can in fact work. Not to mention liability issues that arise with automobile clubs (organizations) many of which carry insurance even for local tours, let alone bigger events.

With this concept, many administrative costs are reduced but on-line costs run high--higher that anyone realizes. And yet we've found ways to donate and raise money to help Mike K. with some of it although he makes a giant contribution to the annual cost. As in BIG.

Most eveything that happens here is just plain volunteer workxxxx fun. Come to think of it, it's time for me to send in a little something for what is now the beginning of my fourth year.

But we weren't all sure at first that this loose knit idea, lacking any formality, would work--we we're just hoping so. It did. And this is a concept that other groups could learn from and follow.

Just another county to be heard from...I have met and have become great friends with several Prowler owners..all of whom I would never have run across had it not been for POA. I have lots of cars and belong to many on-line website clubs..or forums. POA is by far the best, the most informative, the nicest people I have ever met and the first thing that I click on as soon as I sit in front of my computer. I know it is a labor of love that Mike and Judy keep this forum going for all of us. It is very sad that disruptions and such vile disagreements creep onto these pages. I personally could care less whose car is fastest, prettiest and baddest...Others do care and it is their prerogative to do so..we are all passionate about our love for this automobile..we all show it in different ways..but everyone can certainly figure out how to agree to disagree at some point. I'm sure, as Mike writes, he will take care of the situation and the rest of us can move on. I agree with Larry Lord..if you want to leave...GO...who needs to read your tearful goodbye..unfortunately, we have had some real passings of some dearly loved members..and for that we have all grieved..so for us that remain..let's just enjoy our cars, this site and each other. Thanks Mike and Judy..thanks Jay and Nancy Harris, thanks Tom and Susie Mills, thanks Chris and Christy Wade, thanks DavidN, thanks Gene Cox, thanks Neal and Mary Bardens and so many others I have had the opportunity to meet and schmooze with..you all have become great friends, enriched my life and I look forward to many, many more good times together.

I have been a car fan since I was old enough to know what one was, I have owned a '55 Chevy, GTO, SS 396 Chevelle, many 'Cudas, 6 PAKS and HEMI cars, Daytona/Superbirds, many T/A Challengers, Prowlers and Vipers along with a string of various Vettes thru the decades.....BUT I NEVER JOINED A CLUB....some of my buddies joined this club or that club, but I always ran the streets under MY rules...I never liked the politics that rise to the top in nearly every car club I observed thru the years.....everyone wants to be boss, jealousy, intrigue, I don't need it....I just wanted to have fun, meet people, and enjoy my cars....if I wanted to go here or there I did, didn't have to answer to anyone or join up with anyone...I always ran the streets on my own terms....the POA was the first organization I ever kinda joined.....I have met Mike and Judy briefly at CAAP, but that is as far as it goes....I feel very fortunate that someone lets me use this board to entertain myself, learn from others, hopefully help or entertain others from time to time, and make many new friends.....they have never asked me for anything except what I wanted to give or do.....I was never pressured to do anything, I even joined the VCA(Viper Club of America) as a DIRECT RESULT of my pleasant association with the POA.....
The POA has ben a most happy experience for me during the time it has existed....I guess what bothers me is if a member is unhappy, that is his business, but don't try to destroy the entire thing for everyone else.....I know all good things usually seem to come to an end and someday the POA board will be a distant memory ...nothing lasts forever....one member leaving is a shame, but we have lots of other members that just drifted into the sunset and no one knows where or why they went....I hate to see anyone leave, I have yet to meet a Prowler owner that I wouldn't be proud to call a friend....this past week I met a fellow POA member/friend in person that I only knew from the board and I hope to meet many more of you in the near future...If I ever tire of the board, or feel I have outlived my welcome I will leave a goodbye message to all, but it will recount the good times and the many friends I have made.........see ya soon in the Smokies...............

I have only been here a little over a year and I too love the site, am thankful I get to use it, and have met some of the nicest people who share my love for cars.

The Prowler Meets put together as a result of this site have been some of the most memorable car events I have ever attended - good people, fun cars, good food and a cold beer or two. Larry Lord - only met you once but you always feel like a friend when I read your posts - hope to see you again soon. Tangled - heck, you don't even know me and you invited me over to check out your Vipers (which, when this job settles down I will take you up on). This is a great site with great people. Don't forget that..... We are human and things like this happen everywhere. It's how you handle it that makes a difference.

Regards,

John

First of all I would like to say I am sorry to the board and fully apologize.

All my life I have looked towards people for their appreciation of things that I have done. Mike and I have been through a lot and are working through this. I appreciate the emails which I received to call Mike and work this out.

There is no dark side to the POA. Just some details between Mike and I.

Since the start of the move from Cali to Indy it has been a stress test. 15 years ago I stopped watching the news and stopped caffeine for a stress condition I have, didn't want to take meds then but now I have started with meds and not up to the recommended strength yet. My mom had a stroke during the move and has had three operations since November of last year. She has been in the hospital since May and her recovery is not going as planned. I am at my third address since November. And bought this house for Debbie, Mom and I. Also Indy is the town which my father died(some know the true story). That's when I ran and not walked to Cali to escape from this town, My Mom wanted to move back so we did. So far so good.

Debbie and I are trying to work things out, we have been broken up for a while(month) and she called last night finally and wants to work things out. Just got off the phone for almost 2 hours. phew The stress of all this put me over the top.

I have lived a life of Riley, no stress or responsibility,,,,, Now I have it all thrown in my lap in a short period. People that deal with stress day in and day out and raising kids and all of life pit falls handle it better than others. I have a problem with it.

Maybe now with meds, shrink and God(starting to go to church) the purpose of life will be clearer.

I am not looking for sympathy, just trying to make it clear why I snapped. Time for me to grow up and be responsible, I was fooling myself.

I know all of you might not forgive me, I don't blame you.

Again from my heart I apologize.

The POA site is the place to be.

Don't blame Mike for his reactions, he has a lot on his plate and I shouldn't have pointed fingers.

Gary C
