The new SSR looks pretty cool ... but the Chevy SSR is a pig... how does something that size weight nearly 4800 pounds. 0-60 in 7.8 sec. I give it 3 years in production! No one wants a high volume (15,000 a year) niche vehicle that is a 2 seater convertible with NO performance (New T-bird).
Prowler is STILL top Dog amoung all the retros! ------------------ |

I agree. I went to look at one at a local dealer last week. They had a big to-do about it in their show room, including the local oldies station airing their broadcast from there. The car does nothing for me. Not my style, I guess. By the way, my wife and I were the only ones there to look at it. |

overall i dont like it... what cars should go into production is the Dodge Super 8 Hemi http://www.dodge.com/grab_life/past_and_future/concept_cars/hemi_r.html or the Dodge Charger R/T Those are off the hook! |

When this vehicle hits the dealerships at such a high price tag,I can see there being a lot of ready available stock for sale. what percentage of the market spends over $40000 on the car? Probably not very many.Anything that is new on the market will be appealing for a while until it becomes mass produced .Does anyone look twice at a Bimmer or even a Corvette these days? SSR is going to sell well in the beginning until the novelty wears off.GM can only sell their vehicles when they are heavily incentivized(0% finance, cashbacks)and this car will without a doubt face the same. Just my 2 cents. |

Too heavy, too expensive and I hate the chrome bar. It takes away from the retro look they are trying so hard to get. Gee, what is the DC part # on those mirrors? ------------------ |

Chevy is determined to ruin the front of every car with that awful chrome bar....It breaks up the lines too much. They now force it into every design. GM designers are on crack I think. |

The Sidewinder looks so much cooler than the SSR. So GM ripped off Dodge's design??? |

I looked at getting an SSR but the fully equiped MSRP was 46500 and the dealer up here in Washington wanted a $12000 markup on it. It was coming out to $62000 after everything. I walked away until it is in the dealer and I can drive it. And seeing if it comes down in price. M. David Jensen |

I saw a black SSR with MI Manufacture plates this weekend in the VIP parking at the 85th PGA Championship in Rochester, NY. I assume it probably was one of the GM Exes in town for the tournament since Cadillac had a Corporate tent. I thought it looked ok, but the 5 other people all agreed it was UGLY... along with the 2 other couple walking by it. I Just don't understand how something that small can weight 3,800 lbs! This PIG needs a diet |
