a Prowler?
We got to talking last night about Lee Iacocca's K car. I don't know why. Maybe it was just bad tequila. It occured to me that were it not for the K car ( and some federal funds to keep them afloat while they made money on it) Chrysler might have gone under. We'd have no Prowler's, PTs or Vipers...

Lavka,

Well yea, but ... if it weren't for Chrysler's reliance on the K car floor pan, they would have had a platform that they could have fit a V-8 in and had made one before the Prowler came along. Personally, I think that's why there is no V-8, but I haven't checked it out extensivly. But someone tell me that a 911 is slow? How many cylinders in there? Not trying to start the cylinder discussion as I think the V6 is a decent match. Heck look at some of the V8's GM is talking about and see the displacement is right about the same as the 3.5. I just think that's where it all comes from.

Just my 2 cents...

If by I-6 you mean inline, NO, they are Boxer 6's (hence the name Boxster which is a cross between Boxer (for the engine) and speedster (a previous car)

Boxer engines are like a v-6 that you sat on making 3 cylinders horizontally pointing North and the other 3 pointing horizontally South.
