I was wondering when this day would come. I think he was the only comedian
whose whole routine was so clean even small children could hear him.

Millions of servicemen certainly remember him...

Last of the Hollywood greats...

I just heard the news this morning. Its truely a sad day for all Americans. One thing he always did was to thank US for the memories we gave to HIM over the years... Bob, thank YOU for the memories! And, YOU are welcome! May you rest in peace...

Makes me wish I would have gone over and said "Thank You" to him the day we saw him in the grocery store (it was a few years ago). We felt like we would just be bothering him so we just pretended he wasn't there... Now I wish I would have said something

Yes, He will be missed. I saw him in Vietnam at Cam Ranh Bay. I was station at Phu Bai with the 101st and got to see him. Then around 1971 I saw him in Pusan,Korea. He did a lot for us troops at that time along with the good looking women that travel with him. It would be nice to have someone like him to go around and visit all the troops. I hope some day someone will step up to the plate and perform for the troops again.(JMT) Johnny

One of the greatest men there was. My wife was working at Canadian Airlines one morning when she looked up to the next customer in line and guess who, Bob Hope was standing there with a big smile on his face, she said he was full of life and just a joy to deal with. He was returning from a fishing trip up the coast from where we live, as his seat assignment came up on the computer screen she made a bit of a gasp and said he was siting next to her on the flight to Vancouver but if he wanted she would move to another seat, he just chuckled and said that was fine. They had a good chat on the 1 hr flight but she never bothered him for his autograph of course later she wished she had.
