Trey, 3 years ago, coming back from the Grand Canyon trip, I dropped Sandy off at the Phoenix airport. Within 5 minutes it was pouring down rain. They closed the airport for awhile. It turned out she had my rainsuit in her luggage, by mistake. I was on a 3 year old Goldwing. Due to freezing rain, etc. it took my 3 days to get to a point 100 miles or so west of Dallas. I dropped down to I-10 to miss the bad weather. (I should have dropped down to Mexico City, it turned out). It was Presidential Election Day. I drove from that point, 100 miles west of Dallas to Cincinnati in one straight shot. Almost 1200 miles in about 17 hours, I think. The little plastic gear for the speedometer broke in Phoenix so I did not have cruise-control, which meant my hand and arm stayed in virtually the same position all the way home. I realize a Goldwing is a lot more comfortable than a crotch rocket but trust me, I was in sad shape for a day or two. The other problem is I am twice as old as you. Have fun and be careful. I hope your trip is a blast. I hope the weather is fabulous the entire trip. |

Sport bikes are a lot of fun,the longest trip I've ever done was about 300 miles(from Toronto to Montreal).I felt just a little stiff at the end,but it was an axperience to say the least(bike was a Yamaha YZF 600R). Hayabusa is a terrific bike, amazing power.Post some pics when you get back from it! |
