Get it NOW! Don't wait! Fantastic deal! 2000 Woodward with only 700 miles now on ebay! Bids start at ONLY $85,000.00! Such a deal!!! Who's gonna be the first to bid on this one? He even was kind enough to post a digital picture of a polaroid picture of the car (or scanned it in). If it sells, I gotta hand it to the guy. I'm not sure I'm even prepared to ask that much for my '97... yet.

Give the guy a break. Back in it's day when it was first released, I'd be willing to bet a few of the Woodwards went for that amount. I remember looking at a new one locally that was listed at $75K.

Maybe this guy bought if for that amount (or more) and needs that just to bail on it.

I am also curious as to why folks here want their car to be worth more but, then some slam folks that ask more.

It is a crazy price he's asking but, more power to him if he gets it.

The stock market used to be over 12,000, too.

YF - I don't like the slamming I've seen on this site for people trying to sell their cars either, but 1. it wasn't posted for sale on this site, and 2. I had no idea the Woodward initially sold for that high a price. I thought only the '97's initially sold in that range. Mine's a '97 and I wasn't thrilled at what I paid for it either, but I'm thrilled to have the car. I don't think I would get my money back on it at this point due to the market right now. I thought the Woodward went for about $47K, so I just thought the price was WAY out of line. Appearantly, so far anyway, people tend to agree with me on that, but I ALSO said, "If it sells, I gotta hand it to the guy." If the car belongs to someone on here, they can let me know they wish to have this thread removed, and I will work to have it taken down with my apologies.
Ed - tell me about it... back in the day, my Worldcom stock was worth 144K. Now its worth $65.00... I thought, since I was in it for the long haul, I would hold onto it, and believed the analyst's reports, et al, and figured it would go back up. Sometimes we learn things the hard way. I learned a new word... SELL!

Its not listed on POA, and anyone should be able to voice their opinion. If the guy wants to try to find someone who isn't knowledgeable on current Prowlers prices well its his choice. The buyer better have the cash because i don't think a bank will loan him that kind of money on a used car. They do know cars values. Its not hard to search ebay or Autotrader sites for Prowler pricing. We are all willing to pay different amounts for the kat of our choice, depending on types, mileage, etc. Lets wait and see if anyone bids on it! My bet is no!!I think when a member posts on a prowler for sale like this, he or she is just bringing it to other members attention. I myself do find a little humor in it!!I just hope the guy didn't pay $65000-$70000 thinking it was Rare and going to go up that much in value in a few years. To Bad he just doesn't drive it and enjoy it. JMO

I agree with both CT and idive.

My point was, alot of folks in here keep saying that collectively we must not sell or hold out for more money to get the price of these up and here appears to be a guy/gal doing that and then gets pounced on for their price.

I agree, it's a rediculous price but, I also think paying $140K back in 97 was equally rediculous yet some folks paid it.

Locally, when new, a Woodward was listed at a local dealer for either $75 or 95K. There was, later at the same dealer, a Black-Tie and it was listed for $75K so I might be a little fuzzy on exactly what the Woodward listed for but, it was either the same or higher. Another dealer had a 99 Black one that they sold to a Colo. ballplayer for $100K

I ended up buying my BT #5 in Philly for $1K below sticker at the same time the local guys were asking the inflated prices. Don't know if they got what they were asking locally but, I'm sure it was well over sticker, whatever it was.

The point being, if this guy bought it new way back when (and depending on where he lives) it's possible he did pay $75K for it.

I saw this the other day....I think the more interesting thing to find out is what the reserve is set to...

The opening bid is $85K with the reserve not yet met.

There is no way it is going to sell and not just because of the price...you just don't start off your eBay account trying to get close to $100K, this guy has 0 feedback. And the polaroid just makes it look that much more suspicious. And he's in NJ to boot....

I thought just as suspicious was the woodward on ebay out of long island with pics of a little blue plaque that had it numbered as as a part of one hundred made. Thought they made 150 each of the woodwards and black ties for the states. Was it just a hundred of the woodwards and is that little blue plaque he shows the real deal? I looked at the black tie down here in Naples that just closed today on ebay and it looked great. Guess $36K was a pretty good deal based on this discussion.

I wish him good luck, but he'd be hard pressed to get $85000 Canadian.
Or maybe Prowlers are finally getting a lot more in resale(it's about time).

I think Prowlers in the US have been selling under priced for the last few years, due to the economy, etc, etc.. In Canada,Prowlers are commonly selling for the equivalent of $50k - $55k US currency (in general). I know if you looked hard enough you could probably find one somewhere for less.

There were so few of these cars made that there is really no doubt they will increase in value. I lucked upon a Deep Candy Red Cat at a fairly large Dealership near the end of the year (Oct. 2002). Did not finance with Chrysler and made a pretty good deal, I heard Cat was 20K Canadian higher in price just weeks earlier. I really don't think large Dealerships (or any for that matter) want to have 1 -2 year old cars (new) in their show rooms. This car is one of 324 Cats this colour, one of 25 built for Canada, (running lights, does not have computer shutdown for engine, and KPH on the speedometer is featured in large, and may a few more things I don't know about), that is not many vehicles.

In my opinion , Cats will be going up. Better get em now!

Thunder, economy must be booming out West. Here in central Canada, Prowlers are having trouble getting $50K Canadian which is mid $30's US. Prices are still a tad higher here than the US - a complete turnaround from a year or two ago when Canadian cars were 10%+ less than in the US (even brand new list).

You can credit weak US economy and weaker US dollar

My son told me that an Orange Prowler was at the auction and received a bid of $ 31,500 but they refused to sell it for that price. I guess it was new but I am not sure.
