My PC at my office fried last week. I brought in an expert and he was able to save most everyting on the hard drive. He's gonna upgrade my system in every aspect.

Historically I've use the Kodak and PhotoSuite photo software.

Can anyone offer me advice on the best photo software available. I really want to get the BEST digital
photos I can. My kids will only be 6 and 11 once! I have spared no expense in the best camera I could get (Sony with best pixel and mini disc) and printer (best HP).

Thanks in advance for the advise!

Randy,

Adobe Photoshop has really set the standard and is used widely among Professionals. Currently using 7.0, great program.

Good luck

Randy -- You started in the right place with the high resolution camera. I'd also mention Corel Draw Products -- specifically Photo-Paint. It will automatically adjust light levels to improve contrast on those "not quite perfect" shots on hazy days. However, I also always keep a copy of the original camera data files since you never know when you may need to go back to the original picture. Good luck and please post lots of pics.

Randy,

I had to look at the Sony site. I didn't know they made a CD version with a high resolution. Saw the 5 Meg version. Looks cool.

I'm into Photoshop. Can do anyting you want. But there is a learning curve. There are guys on the board that understand the product much better than I, but it's what I use.

Randy,

Photoshop has set the standard for this type of software. I have seen the lastest version of Corel's photo-paint but have not really used it.

Photoshop is a great program, and there is a learning curve, but it is worth it

My camera was purchased in Dec. of 2000 and is the Sony MVC-CD300 with the Carl Zeiss lens with a 6X zoom. It uses the 3" mini disc in either the ReWritable or Recordable format. It has 3.3 mega pixels. I was told that this was the best digital camera available at that time. I don't know.

I have an HP deskjet 960c printer and use the best photo paper.

I set the camera to the highest resolution and still get grainy pictures.

I just got my PC upgraded and the techs said they thought I was not selecting the best setting on the software.
