Around 11 PM tonight we came back over the bridge from KY and stopped at the light next to the new Great American Ball Park. While stopped at the light, a white pick up truck pulled up next to us and then ran the Red Light. It is a pretty wide intersection and as he went across the intersection the tailgate opened SIDEWAYS (which I have never seen before). A half barrel fell out of the bed of the truck and the guys kept going. There is a slight curve and then a slight hill for the next two blocks. The light turned green and I proceeded, in time to see him run the light at Third St. also. As we approached that light a 1/4 barrel came rolling down the hill diagonally crossing over to the other side of the street. It was going pretty fast. There were 2 guys and a girl (early 20's) and I told them to tap it slowly since it was a little shook up. We presumed they were empty and kept going. About a mile later we decided to come back and pick up the half barrel and keg. I figured I would give the empties to my son and when they had a party they would not have to pay the "core" charge or whatever they call the deposit. We got back there and both were still there, on opposite sides of the street. I saw the larger one was glistening since it was so hot and humid and figured it must be full. They were both full of Bud Light. Now what to do with them. They have to be kept cold, I presume.
I wound up taking them to a bar that is owned by a neighbor of mine that is on Third St. near Paul Brown Stadium. He was not there so I told the bartender the story, even though he probably thought I was nuts. We were in the PT and he came out and we carried them into the walk-in cooler.
How would you like to get hit in the Prowler by a 1/2 barrel or 1/4 barrel of beer in the Prowler, or on a motorcycle.
I thought they were leaving a party and were drunk and tomorrow would think someone stole the empties. They must have been on the way back to a party and I would have loved to have been there when they arrived with the refreshments for the crowd. Unreal.
This is a true story. No part of it is made up or exaggerated. The sad part is I don't drink beer and never have really cared for it.

Bob said he wants to buy them. Says he's got a hot idea for a new mod... The Kegger Weekender, for those long hot summer drives.
