I sorry if anyone was offended by my Center Caps photos! I am a Adult! I'm on a site for Owners of Prowlers.(Who are adults!) I don't see how center caps covering a womens breasts are any different then a string bikini. I hope if your at a pool ,ocean, lake, you keep your eyes on the look out for any offensive swimwear some girls might be wearing!!! Kids see alot worse online then that. If you don't believe it your crazy!I guess you never were a kid, looked at your first Playboy etc. Does this Mean I don't Win the SHIMMERS????LOL!!!Oh well I guess they make better Xmas Ornaments ------------------ |

I'm only offended that I wasn't fast enough to view the picture, before it was removed, bummer. Your right I have seen some pretty skimpy tops at the beach, and was never offened, except when caught gauking... |

Chuck & Barb stirring the pot again! I did not see the pic as I was trying to keep everything from floating away last night 8 plus inch's of rain around here in the last 24 hours and more on the way! I would not be offended but I know we have many young viewers on this page, I know we have at least 1 8 year old boy that lives across the street form the shop that comes over and looks at the POA Site on a regular basis to see pictures of our cars and when he see's something cool he makes sure I have to look at it. He got hooked on Prowlers when I watched him for a summer after his mom pasted away. On a side note I used to take him to School in the Prowler and on the Harleys he was the man in Kindergarten. Also for what its worth I had the same idea but my wife is not as outgoing Barb! ------------------ |

The pic was taken down before I got to the post listing it, but I found my way to it thru the back door anyway. It wasn't too bad, but I did wonder if it would stay up. It wasn't really something for an 8 yr old boy, on the other hand, I was about 8 when I saw my first playboy. I'm sure it wasn't anything he wouldn't have seen before. If the pic stays in competition, we should be told so, so we know what we have to beat. LOL. ------------------   |

Although I didn't see it, my take would be that the site wants to maintain a certain level of decency. Once you start down that slope of allowing a few things to be o.k., the issue becomes more and more commonplace. One only has to look aat TV to see what I mean. 20 years ago, Ricky and Lucy (as a married couple) couldn't be seen in the same bed. From there we have progressed up to NYPD Blue a few years back where it was who's butt you would see in the next episode. Was that really relevant to the story? I also remember as a kid, kids wanting to sneak off to the drive-in that was showing "X" rated movies late at night. Those flics would hardly be as racey as alot of PG-13 flics nowadays. I think it also fair to say, this is a family site and a small percentage of those viewing may be kids. Yes, there is public nudity and such available to view possibly in your area and definitely on-line but, if you really want to look at that, go to those sites. So, kudos to POA for doing what is right and keeping their standards. |

I think this issue is over blown!!I was out in my boat when asked to remove the pic's. I would have but didn't have a chance to do it!Center caps covering Breasts or a bikini top whats the difference? I didn't know this was a family site?? i thought the average prowler owner was around 50. I've been on since November never talked to any kids or saw a post from a kid?? (under 16) There was no nudity!!Just a funny use for center Caps!!!By the way i have to win!!No one else caused this much excitement!!I won't be on any Cruises with you Guys(Ships)there might be a girl or 2 sunbathing Topless on upper Deck!!!I'm not offended, or Mad, just think this whole thing is Ridiculous ------------------ |

Judy........I agree with you. Everyone has their own morals and values and not everyone will agree on the value of something like that on this site. I would like everyone to keep in mind, however, that just because you don't see young people posting on this site, it doesn't mean they aren't looking at it. There are a lot of Prowler owners who read this site on a daily basis, but are not comfortable posting, so they don't register and don't post........but they are looking and reading and gleaning information. That also may include young people who love the Prowler and like to read about it and see pictures of it. Some of the comments that have been made make it sound like this is a "guys only" site. It's not. There are women owners, wives and young people who also participate on this site. It's true that adults and children can see inappropriate things just about everywhere.........beaches, movies, internet and their own neighborhoods, but that doesn't make it right, either. I agree that this site does not need to contribute to that. I can recall that about a year or so ago, there were a number of people on this site that were ready to form a lynch mob and crucify someone on another site for posting a link to an inappropriate photo. So what has changed here since then that makes it okay now? Don't forget also, that upon registering we all agreed to the following guidelines before being given posting privileges: You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this BB, or its email or private messaging functionality, to post any links, URLs or material which is knowingly illegal, false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, offensive, mean spirited, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise could violate any law. Political correctness has overrun this society of freedom our speech has to be monitored at all times to avoid offending someone it has gotten to such an extreme that a friend of mine was offended by a flyer for the black student union because it used the word black instead of African-American I would point out that if you post something that could offend someone then you should put a warning on it but you also have to consider that this forum unto its self offends many people GreenPeace,save the rain forest committees, those that profit of of alternately fueled vehicles so anything can offend anyone irregardless of content (even the Teletubbies offend some people) This message has been edited by twistedjester on 07-01-2003 at 08:59 AM |

I don't care either way. I wasn't offended but also do not want to offend others (women and childred included). My point was just that the center cap bikini shot was pulled, but the Snap On bikini poster shot was left up. Just seemed odd that one was deemed OK and the other was not... Mike |

I saw the photo and thought it was funny. It didn't look any different to me than those photos that were posted a while back of someone's Prowler and the Bud girls in bikinis or was it the Cowboy cheerleaders I don't remember. Nothing was exposed and just as much if not more was covered than with a bikini top. I respect the powers that be in there decision but I don't agree with it. Much to do about nothing. JMO |
