I really would like a Red 2003 Viper. I just don't seem to want to pull the trigger on one at $85000 plus tax! Is there a chance the 2004 will be less expensive, not as many people wanting one? Will there be any benefits to buying an 2004, Any changes? Upgrades? Its a new model this year, did they find any problems they need to fix. I hate buying the first model year, it always seems they change something in the years to follow. Just like the prowler. Or what will i be able to buy a 2003 for in 2004? Had a guy email me he'd sell me his 2003 black for $76000 got laid off! I want Red! Give me your 2 cents worth.------------------

CT....I just had this SRT delivered last week...it had 18 delivery miles on it from CAAP....now has 24....I have yet to drive or even start the car since I have owned it....has a removeable hardtop...roll bar/cover...front splitter....side splitters....rear wing....aluminum gas cap....the car was built by AutoForm in Holland Mi....at this time, it is the ONLY Viper SRT in existence with any of these mods....could be collectable in a few decades ....as for your questions '03 vs. '04.....a new color(white) is the only change I have heard about....this red SRT is one of the first built....build date of 9-06-02....it is going to be advertised as soon as I get a chance to take some pix.....may run it on EBay... if it interests you, email me for $$$$ details.....basically MSRP plus cost of parts....there is NO OTHER like it ANYWHERE.....doubt the price will go anywhere but up for '04....last time I talked to the dealer I purchased these two from, he said their allotment was almost gone for '04 models.....THEY ARE IN DEMAND.....DC seems to have struck a totally new market with the styling and ride....I have been driving my black SRT quite a bit lately and all I can say is WOW....buy mine, buy another, makes no difference....but BUY ONE NOW.....they are a fantastic car !!! You won't be dissapointed

CT, wait 5 or 6 months and you will be able to pick one up for much less. The new Viper is not nearly as hot as DC anticipated. Blue, love your car. PGD aka Ron

Duane---Don't you worry about Barb, she has no trouble spending money on herself!!!She just had her chin, upper lip, cheeks done on tuesday. She looks like i ran her over with my Kat!!I thought she was pretty enough! Hey its the girl thing right now. Alot of wasted money as far as i'm concerned. But if she's happy with it in a few weeks well then i guess its worth it! Tangled Up --Beautiful car! I'm never going to drive it with top on, i love convertibles. The wing is a very sporty option as well. I think the reason the new viper is Hot is its a more refined automobile now. It appeals to the so called yuppies. I think the old style was more for the Prowler type Guy like us. I do own 3 jaguars though, so go figure. Its got balls, but looks real sophisticated. ------------------

Hat to say it TUIB ... but with the hard top on and specifically from the rear, it kinda looks like a Mazda RX-7, which, sorry ... is (yawn) a wankle rotory rice burner ... so maybe is good thing you are getting rid of it ... hate to think of YOU being mistaken as hip-hop kid out for drive in his daddy's Mazda!! =)

Ray....I would like to be mistaken as ANY kind of a kid these days .....I am not sure what a Mazda RX7 looks like anymore, but this car reminds me of something different everytime I look at it.....if you stand beside the door and look across the hood towards the other sides headlight, the SRT is a dead ringer for a Copperhead.... ....this car looks wild in person and got more attention than a UFO on a recent outing...as you know the SRT has been deep in controversy since day one over it's appearance....many did not seem to like the car at all... personally, I like the SRT okay, but I still prefer the GTS by a wide margin....now with performance figures being backed up a few minds are changing, but I doubt it will ever have the impact the initial Viper RT10 or the Viper GTS did on the public....modifications are always a gamble...in general I like cars bone stock(was raised that way)...the mods on this car have had mixed revues, much like the SRT itself....Autoform is pleased from a marketing standpoint.......glad to see you posting more again.....another question.....do you know anyone in your area with one of the AAT 53/C5 conversions/are they happy with the car after a period of ownership......thinking seriously about one.....larry

No to the first part, no one in this area HAS one of those 53/C5 conversions ... but saw one in Detroit area when CJ and I went out on a cruise in her Candy Red cat a couple weeks ago while I was there on biz ... I like it, she was not that fond of it ... it gets THAT kind of response. Talked to the designer/builder ... supposedly just one very small cut in an original panel is all that is necessary to convert, otherwise is all bolt on and can be returned to stok even.Yes, I believe it was like the AERO Vette that had the rotary engine and around '73 sounds about right. Next time I head to Indy, will try giving you a shout ... you far from the Keystone area?

Ray....Aero Vette sounds right.....I can see the cover of the magazine in my mind, but the name escaped me....I visited the AAT facility in Detroit recently to see the 53/C5 in person.....VERY IMPRESSIVE !!!! I was just curious how they weathered after time on the road...mine will be on the road daily and I don't want crap falling off ...I am about 45 minutes from Indy/Keystone area....my schedule is quite flexable, let me know when you can make it....will take you out for a square steak at that famous place that looks like a castle, think it's painted white ??? HEY, I'LL BUY

I really really really want to like the new Viper, but it just doesn't grab me at all like the previous generation does. The hard top helps, but still doesn't help differentiate it from looking like a cross between a Sebring convertible and a C5 Corvette.------------------ Rich W 2001 Silver Cat

I like the new style, not the old style! We are all different. Thats why they make lots of different Models. Also the 2003 is "supposed" to have more room for the driver. I hit my knee when i shifted the old style on the steering column. ------------------

More room yes yes yes that is the reason I got an 03. like the older style a little better but after rubbing my head in the prowler for awhile I did not want another car like that. Had the prowler for 1 1/2 years now with 4000 miles and the viper since April 18th with 1800 miles on it .The only thing bad about the viper is that anything else I drive is SLOW

Tangled,I think your red '03 is awsome looking. I only wish I could afford to buy it, but I can't even come close with what they cost.
