I have lived in the Greenfield area most all my life. For most of it on Sacramento Dr. A few years about 3 miles east of here.

Last year Sue met a guy at a car show that said his Grandfather had a 67 dart GT hardtop and it was sitting in the barn lot. The Grandfather had passed away and his father is to handle the estate.

I have tried for several months to find out if they would sell it. Yesterday I called again and he said that his father has not said if they would sell it or not so he thought he didn't want to sell it.

I ask if it would be OK for me to come and look at it to see if I would be interested IF his dad did decide to do something with it.

He said OK and told me where it was, which is less than 4 miles east of my current house and only the next road east from my last house (about 1.25 miles due east of my old house) thru open fields.

We drive back to the old farm house and see a few cars sitting around. As I look around the buildings I see a truck with a tanker on the back. I like this style truck and cannot believe what I see. I meet with Rod and we walk back to see the Dart. Before we get there I see several old cars from the 30's up. I cannot believe it. I spot the dart but not before 2 55 or 56 Fairlanes one with super nice stainless trim and something I'm not sure what it is, an old chevy truck and then out in the open the Dart.

Yes I'm interested in the dart for the rear finish panel and trim, and maybe build the car for Sue's grandson who will get his license this summer.

The Dart he thought had a problem with the distribitor, the 63 Caddy he thought had a bad waterpump. When a car would have a problem his grandfather would just park it. The mystery car (I have an idea after talking to Rod) His uncle bought when he was 15 and he is now 67. It doesn't sound like he ever drove it. It is up to the bumpers and running boards in the dirt.

The GMC Cab Over Engine is something I would also be interested in, I don't know why, but I think they are really cool trucks. The old Dodge truck had a V 8 emblem so i checked it out to see if it had a hemi, no luck on that.

what I came to look at

Mystery car

Chysler Business coupe, he said just over 200 of this model made

No Hemi here

I want this truck too!

Do you see anything in here?

I walked right by this

Rod said that when he was a little they played in this and it still had the seat and tires

Look real hard and you will see what I believe is a model T truck. He said someone came and was going to get some scrap metal and haul off for them but only took the brass radiator from this.

As with several old farmers he had stuff everywhere. I seen a set of wheels and tires with American Motor hub caps on them, an old Lincoln mark 5, a few old Pontiacs, old farm equipment, a huge pile of old tin cans. Junk to most TREASURE TO A FEW.
