DROPPING?

Here in Az. it has been increasing 5 cents every week for the past 8 weeks or so. Around x-mas time we were at $2.05 and now at $2.40 to $2.50 range again. SUV and big truck sales have hit a brickwall here,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I may have to look at a Cobalt or Aveo, lol.

Most people, sadly, are like lost sheep and listen (and panic) with everything the media says. Price of gas goes up 2 cents, and they all want to sell and get a smaller car. Next week when prices go down (or they get used to the extra thirty dollars a year they will pay for gas...) they go back to wanting another SUV. I've seen this pattern happen several times since the gas lines of the late 70's.

$2.03 here yesterday...

...due to higher than normal gasoline prices in the Phoenix area, AC and his "friend" Bruce found it necessary to ride their Schwinn to the "Brokeback Mountain" movie premier.....they shared popcorn until Bruce pulled the notorious "popcorn trick" on AC once again...

Outside of the I-275 belt, in Fairfield they are almost all 1.93-1.95, inside the belt, just a mile away it is mostly 2.05-2.09. A few are still 2.19.

Well it may seem that we are paying less for gas these days, it ain't really so. If you happen to own a diesel, as I do, and all the trucking companies do, we are paying out the A$$. With the price of diesel about a dime more than premium gas. We are still paying for it when we buy "anything" that is moved by truck. I think the oil companies got scared of the public bitching so they lowered the price of gas and raised the price of diesel about .50 cents a gallon. Less than a year ago diesel was cheaper than regular. So, it ain't really so in the long run. Most people don't even happen to look at the price of diesel when they go by a gas station. So we are all still takeing it in the shorts. Nowadays when I have to fill up the Kat with premium I feel like i'm getting a bargin. JMO

Wholesale prices on gasoline have fallen approx 12 cents in the last 10 days.

Distillates (on and off road diesel, heating oil, kerosene, jet A) have fallen approx. 8 cents.
