Hello all fellow Arizona members. Me and my wife are planning a trip to the Grand Caynon in April. I was planning on staying near the caynon but when looking at average temps might want to stay elsewhere. I don't want to drive all that way to have it snow while we are up there. I can get that back home in Michigan. Williams & Flagstaff are futher but still show average temps. 59day/26 night temp. Sedona looks beter with temps 72day /40night. So can anyone that is in that area suggest a place to stay in Sedona or elsewhere that is warm. Also if anyone is interested in getting together for lunch or dinner while we are out there let me know and I will PM you with exact dates. Thanks for your help.

Toy - it HASN'T snowed in Flagg or Williams so far this year. I'd stay in Flagg,,,,the hotel/motel selection is better there. Sedona,,,,you'll want to visit to see the famous Red Rock mountains, etc. but to stay there is quite expensive = tourist trap of high end resort/hotels.

Downtown Williams is on old Route 66. Be sure to visit the Route 66 store there, owned by Peter Wouters - Prowler owner.
Route66Roadstore@aol.com last email address I had for him.

I really don't see you hitting any snow in April up in northern Arizona,,,,,,but I have been wrong before.

Good luck!

I stayed at the Old Train Depot in Williams and also a Super 8 in Sedona. Reasonable pricing for both. Took the train from Williams to Grand Canyon hoping to see wildlife....never even seen a Jackrabbit!!

I wouldn't recommend the Grand Canyon train ride from Williams. Much better one is the Verde Valley RR train ride from Clarkdale to Perkins, Az. http://www.verdecanyonrr.com/index2.html

Don't stay at the Super 8 in Sedona. After F/P stayed there,,,,they reported Missouri roaches infecting the rooms,,,,,,unable to kill those suckers!

The wild animals seen F/P coming down the rail line,,,,a frightful looking pig/yak farmer from Missouri, and they all ran like hell to avoid him seeing them, lol.

"except the female that was with me!!"

So Gray Ghost was playing the female role on that trip

My sister and I made a trip to Sedona in May of last year to visit another sister. We stayed at the Super 8 and it was nice and we had reasonable rates.

Super 8 Motel - Sedona
