ISN'T THIS IRONIC?

THINK ABOUT THIS!

A car company can move its factories to Mexico and claim
it's a free market.

A toy company can out source to a Chinese subcontractor and claim
it's a free market.

A major bank can incorporate in Bermuda to avoid taxes and claim
it's a free market.

We can buy HP Printers made in Mexico.
We can buy shirts made in Bangladesh.

When I need to speak to someone about my computer, I talk to
somebody in India.

We can purchase almost anything we want from 20 different countries

BUT, heaven help the elderly who dare to buy their prescription
drugs from a Canadian pharmacy.

That's called un-American!

And you think the pharmaceutical companies
don't have a powerful lobby?

Think again!

(thx AC)

I don't know but, I think there is a big difference between something you have to inject or swallow being in me from a third world country or buying a printer made overseas.

Drugs here typically take billions of dollars and years of government testing (I think 10 years is about average) before it even is allowed to hit the general market. Countries elsewhere don't have to do near that or they just wait till one of these develops it then just mimics it with a generic version.

Point well made EXCEPT for one thing. The same pill that is made in the same factory is priced for 1/10th the money in Canada as it is in the US. Charge the same price in every country.

I think, and I stand to be corrected here, is that alot of that has to do with our great legal system and the ability to sue for bazillions of dollars here.

When folks sue big companies for billions, who ultimately pays for that tab? The consumer.

Costco sells them for about 10 % of the other pharmacies, supposedly. I have not checked that out. So maybe it is just not the big manufacturers but it is also the pharmacies.
