Thanks Chromer for the site. Have looked at a lot of pictures of this car and the first time I have seen the air doors in the hood work as the old Challenger's were fake if you wanted fresh air on the oldies you had to order the Shaker or T/A hood. Thanks buddy.....

the HEMI Challenger RT/SE I owned was the first HEMI Challenger ever made....it was one of 60 HEMI Challengers made with the SE/Special Edition package....23 4spds/37 automatics....it was an automatic....the Challenger T/A is my favorite, nice well rounded package....I have owned about 30 of them thru the years and one AAR CUDA, just have the Plum Crazy T/A left...

Didn't have our camera along today at the car show,,,,,but a guy shows up with two Hemi Cuda converts from Montana,,,supposedly the very first ever one built [red convert] and the very last ever built Hemi Cuda convert built [white convert]. Didn't see any documentation, but the cars were as good as, or better, than brand new. Allegedly,,this guy turned down $3M offer for the last one built.

Nothing to do with the new Challenger,,,just thought TUIB might be interested?

Documentation should be in the dash vin tag and the fender tag. 1970 and 71 the 5 digest in the vin should be R for Hemi BS27R the 27 is conv. Have seen many make the clam but few are real cars only 7 made in 71 and I think 14 in 1970.

I'll get some pictures if this guy shows up next week.

Dozens of nice rides coming into Arizona right now,,,,for the three big auctions going on this month. High $$$ buyers will be arriving soon also.

L.B. - general admission tickets aren't tough to get,,,,,it's the 'buyer passes' that require financial backing to get up close that cost more,,,,,,but you 'know and sleep with a banker',,lol

i think the new Challenger body has the perfect look.for me the only exterior changes i would make would be to take a few inches out of the center section of the tail light, and instead of 20" wheels, i'd go with a 17" or 18" wheel with a taller sidewall tire to go with the retro look.

I think they will have to add a bumper for that 5mph thingy....
my vote is for the 73-74 style grill and a small chrome bumper without the pads...

This new Challenger is HOT!!! It would be a good challenge for the new Mustang! I like the body. Its a terrific nod to the original. And with the SRT HEMI on board, this thing should FLY!!! Chrysler should offer it in the 1970 colors - Plum Crazy, Top Banana yellow, Burnt Orange, etc.
