SO THEN WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL ABOUT 5000 MEMBERS, THERE IS PROBABLY 1000 OR LESS OR MAYBE MORE WHO DON'T OWN PROWLERS ANYMORE, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW JUST FOR THE SAKE OF KNOWING HOW MANY PROWLERS OWNERS WE ACTUALLY HAVE. RICK

Look in the owners registry for that. It won't be 100% accurate, but it will be close.

If only 10 % contribute you still have more people contributing than you did before. (This same argument/question came up at 2000, 3000 and 4000.)
RICK, you post and you were not one of the first 100 to join, therefore you never know who will be a contributor. The more the merrier. The next 5 members might contribute a lot.
It also helps with technical questions and answers and for future owners to be able to get info or even find Prowlers for sale.
10 % of 5000 is a lot more than 10% of 2000.
Ideally they would all post but that ain't gonna happen.

I don't own a Prowler,(well, maybe a 1:24 scale die cast),but I've worked on several, painted a few, and have a lot of friends who are owners. Interesting cars, interesting people, thats why I registered.

DITTO,,,,,,glad to have you aboard FASTBACK! Lots of owners here with questions that only one who works on them can answer. You must know Mr. Ed and that town bum, Tangled up in Cookie Dough? I hope you don't mind if we pick your brain sometimes for answers?

As of today, of the 4975 memebers - 991 have posted 10 times or more. As to the number of actual Prowler Owners I would guess that number to be about 1500 , but that's just a wild guess.

Because of the times we live in, it's not wise to publish your vin numbers. There have been several cases recently of members vin numbers and pictures being used in fraudulent for sale ads on other sites.

Were the vin numbers and pictures lifted from this site?
Hard to tell for sure. But having you car sold by someone else can create headaches for you.

Hope that post wasn't aimed at me...I'm not a Prowler owner anymore. I'm not a T Bucket owner any more either, but I am an NTBA Charter Member, so I still post on that board too.
Biggest reason I post here is to keep AC in check!

Maybe someone is taking the "when do we hit 5000 members" contest too serious, paying others money to sign up and win the contest price??

back to the original question, this question had nothing to do with contribution $. it was about how fast we are getting to the number 5000 (prowler owners only) that is the question, ed i wasn't in the top 100 i didn't have a prowler then, i'm on this site because i do have a prowler and like to join in conversations and events, i don't own a corvette or a mustang ect so why would i join up with them, does anyone get the point of this. rick

Rick, I got your point immediately. The point has been raised numerous times in the past. Some of the registered members were from years ago and they sold their Prowlers. Some of them registered several times because they forgot their screen name or password. Some of them join because they intend to buy a Prowler but need to be a member to ask questions. Some of them just join for the heck of it, probably.
You never know which new member will be productive and give his or her input. Most of the folks that I have contacted, after seeing their names registered locally, in fact do have Prowlers. No one knows the numbers, no one ever will and it changes all the time.
I knew you did not have a Prowler way back, that was my point. You joined later and you are active. That is what we would like to see from everyone but that won't happen. The more we have, the better the chance they will contribute. We only have a couple hundred who post but amazingly a bunch of folks come to events that NEVER post. They read and they take part in their own way and that is fine, also. Some of us (me and you excluded) just have a lot more b.s. lol

I'm not a Prowler owner. Possibly never will be. Doesn't mean I don't love 'em though!

The registration is made up of owners, future owners, former owners and people who are just plain interested in the car. It doesn't reflect everyone or all owners, however. There are a great number of owners who frequent the site, but never register. You only HAVE to register if you want to post or purchase something from The Prowler Store. All are welcome!!!
