Several years ago we had a Prowler meet in Bowling Green, KY. I think we had 5 Prowlers which was a BIG event at the time. One place we stopped at was a Chrysler Dealer in old down town Bowling Green that opened in 1927.

I know this does not seem like the place to post this.....but just wait you will see.

This was a step back into time walking in. They sold about 2 cars a month from what the sales manager told me. The current owners parents and uncle opened and it and was in the same building they started in 1927. The owner (81) at the time didn't need the money and kept the place open to have a place to go.

Well being a really old dealer I was asking about some things I needed for the Dart and Imperial. They let me go to the upstairs to look around. They had all kinds of NOS stuff for old cars and other stuff they had collected. One thing I seen was a REAL OLD OUTBOARD MOTOR. If I remember correctly it was dark green. I was not looking for that so I didn't pay a lot of attention to it.....BUT I did find the box with all the paper work for the 1981 model year. I looked through it and got all the paper work that was on the 1981 Chrysler Imperial. I must have had a stack over an 1" thick.

Everybody was ready to go eat and I was in HEAVEN, so I ask if I could take the papers and get them copied and bring them back. They told me I could take them and mail them back once I got them copied........VERY NICE TRUSTING PEOPLE.

So is the deal still there.....I don't know but if they are I bet the small outboard motor still is in the upstairs just where it was several years ago.

I have always wanted to go back...I hope by the time I get back they are still there.
