Do any POA members watch "Pinks" on Speed Channel?

It is a drag racing reality show where the winner of challenge races gets the car, thus the Pinks as in pink slip, of the loser.

Great - we are switching to digital cable today and will finally get the Speed Channel. Should I apply to be on the show?

Marty-

Catch "Texas Hardtails" too.

When one is laid up the appreciation for cable TV is greatly enhanced! Network daytime TV with soaps, Oprah-like talk shows and all the Judge this & that shows is awlful.

I've tried to watch it several times...too much BSing and not enuff racing...guess they gotta make it last 30 minutes
(make that 18 minutes...12 minutes of commercials)

I watched it a few times. Think it is kind of lame.

I would like to know more how they get the cars. It seems to me that someone is fronting the money to build the car. Only once did I see 2 vehicles that were even close, Nova & W30 442

The 1st one I saw the guy was driving the old tudor rod...whined and cried the other guy had a ringer drive...after he won the car they show his trailer....looked like a NASCAR hauler....then he goes on to win a second car on another show..........not something I will turn on unless absolutely nothing else on and I'm not ready for bed.

Watch It. Enjoy it for what it is. Some episodes are better than others. Lots of repeats

gotta agree...

its one of those shows that needs some refining to be good... the concept is sound but the whining has got to go...maybe convert it to 2 laps around an oval track instead of the drag race theme....

I have to say most of these shows copied Orange County Choppers, where the old man and his son bitched at each other for most of the show. You get to see about 2 minutes of the cars or choppers and the rest is just BS. and then of course you get to see the same commercials over about 10 times.

Agree with Halicat and BGG. The guy on PINKS is a jerk. Can't stand to watch it.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! It reminds me me of all the street racing I used to watch here on the Chicago streets back in the 70's and early eighties. It reminds me of when guys used to run off of pure horsepower instead of nitrous bottles. Half the night the guys would just bicker and tell jokes about each other and put down the other guy's car. They also used to argue about spotting the other guy's car and how much money they're betting. All in an effort to get a run. The show captures that perfectly. It shows me that not much has changed. The only thing that has changed is that now its on a racetrack instead of on the street, so nobody has to watch out for the police. When the police came they used to shut down the street and chase all of the cars off or call for the fire department and have the street hosed down so that we couldn't come back. Then we would have to go to another spot and start all over again! AH, THE GOOD OLD DAYS!!!

I don't watch it, but a guy I know [Chuck Henderson, owner of Pro-Dyno Performance in Tempe] hauled his ride and a mechanic to Florida for a show filming,,,,,,,won the races, and the other guy [loser] refused to give up his car and drove away from the film shoot. Needless to say,,,,he was P.O. at the whole deal and won't even talk about it now.
