I recently rented out my wife Cookie to Alley Cat for security on his rusty old silver Kat....when anyone gets close Cookie yells "STAND BACK FROM THE PROWLER"....only flaw with the system, she can be persuaded to look the other way for a few Twinkies.....seriously....welcome to the POA....someone will know the answer soon, I am sure

They are called perimeter alarms. Recently had one installed on my Prowler....however they do not make the ones that talk anymore. They just start to chirp when an object comes within sensitivity range of the alarm.Just one problem.....due to the unique shape of the prowler it is impossible for the alarm to get a consistent perimeter, it is either far too sensitive or not sensitive enough. Still have the system but I can choose to use this perimeter feature or not. Had a very reputable alarm company.....and they couldn't do it, that is within a reasonable cost. Tried using 2 sensors and still wasn't enough.......

thanks so much thunder........i swear i had to beat several older guys off with a stick today.....i'm worried about the stereo, the cool dice, as well as the interior and exterior being harmed.
also finding i'd rather be driving this gas guzzler than my SUV gas guzzler.......it just feels better. but will have to pick where i can safely drive it and park where i can see it until i get some sort of alarm. thanks so much and cookie looks "bribable" to me. houdini

In my opinion the Talking alarms are a reason for someone to key the car...........I don't know much about alarms but if they still make them I would not get it. I was getting into my cra once and the stupid car parked next to me started that crap.........if I was not such a NICE GUY, I would have keyed the hell out of it and kicked it to so it would have had a reason to talk to me. If you have that kind of alarm and park it in a regular space how is the guy next to you to get into his car? A lo jack with tracking satelite system if you think it will be stolen Cool car, not a 59 Caddy but still a chrome laden cool ride. This message has been edited by WildCat on 12-04-2005 at 11:03 AM

I agree Larry, they are very annoying. Also the car alarms that go off when you just drive past the car. I hate those #*$!@^+ things. There one that parks at my office and it going off every time a car drives by. Echoes over the entire parking deck.

You definitely want the ability to turn this feature on or off, and not use it in obvious places like crowded parking lots, etc...
