...last week I had to make a trip south to the homeland....while visiting the old family farms I did a little poking around in the woods....I was looking for the old cave I used to play in as a kid, and to see if I could find the location of the old moonshine still...

...naturally the cave and spring was there, the still was long gone with very little signs of ever being there, but I stumbled across this truck cab in the woods on the side of the mountain....I thought it an odd place for this to be sitting....someone went to a hell of a lot of work to get this thing to it's current resting place....also found a valley with a several hundred wornout white wall tires and lots of other junk from decades past....I guess my grandparents didn't have regular trash pick up in those days

pictured...the old truck cab and my grandfathers old barn......my dad and my uncle helped my grandfather build the barn around 1930....

That is B.S. all the way. The red building is A/C's summer home and the unpainted one is his outhouse, a six seater for when the AZ Prowler trash get together. You are getting to be more full of B.S. with every post. Clean up your act. lol

Ed - I was kind of thinking the same thing about all of tangled's B.S., lol. Then it hit me,,,,,,,,,,,, we (the POA) could use this magnificent setting for the yet unplanned 2008 national POA event >>> titled:

Back Home Again,,In Indiana 2008 Prowler Trash Survivor Exploration Event

The ole barn could be our central hotel, enough room for all to sleep in sleeping bags, and the outhouse could be divided equally [four holes for the guys/two for the girls] >>> the girls prefer the long lines for restroom use. All we need is a generator to pump the water from the spring up to the barn, and build a few tarp enclosed shower facilities.

Daily events would include trips to Tangled's secret photo shot locations so everyone could get pictures of their cars taken at Larry's prime backdrops. Trip to New Castle's location of their annual car show down at the Ye Old Smoke Shop and Laundromat parking lot. And what fun it would be to visit the Bell Auto Museum, and poke holes in the air bags of his stored autos. This is just a start, and I'm sure other great ideas will evolve around this central theme,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Must have been nice going back Tangled. I get to my G Parents place from time to time to tickle the memory banks.
The new owner says OK which is pretty nice. Find any good stuff stashed in the corners of the barn?

...The event organizers, my 1st cousins Zeb and Ned, are ANXIOUSLY awaiting your arrival to the 2008 "POA Hillbilly Run" to be held in Barrier Kentucky, the breeding grounds of the world famous and beloved TUIB....Zeb was overheard saying "that there Alley Cat boy, he sure does have perty lips" and Neb said something about a game in the woods to make you "squeal like a pig" but I didn't understand all the rules...

entertainment will include...

catchin a greased pig...
the winner gets to have sex with the greased pig(AC has bought new boots for the event with cleats)...and the POA members get to eat the greased pig for the POA breakfast...

other games will be announced closer to the 2008 POA event

"Moms" Dolen is preparing a room at the event hotel for all the POA guests to sleep in...new visqueen has been ordered to cover all the windows, it keeps the critters out(most of them anyway) and still allows the POA members to keep a close watch on their beloved Prowlers, cause Zeb and Ned sure do like to drive fast cars....

my grandfather passed away in 1963 and my grandmother moved to Indiana and lived with us till she passed 10 years later....the barn still has everything in it jus like the last time my grandfather was there...NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN REMOVED....several years ago I took my dad for a long visit when he was still able to get around pretty good....he found things in the barn from his childhood, farm utensils etc....the stuff had never been moved in nearly 60 years...it is like a trip back in time when you go there...same people, same houses and they are always sittin' on the porch looking for someone to "drop by"

and yes AC....there were loads of FOTO locations down there, my cousin Edna Bob and I are going back next fall I hope and takin' a Kat for a FOTO Fest ...amazing backdrops...

Three fine looking Coffman dogs. You can tell they take after their master, Barney Coffman, and that in-breeding is still alive in Missouri, lol.

the pictures were taken in Barrier, Kentucky.....it is a suburb of Monticello, actually a bend in the Oil Valley Road about 6 miles from Monticello ....my grandmothers family was Barrier and was raised there for several generations....my grandfathers family was Bell and they are from BellFarm Kentucky.....I think if there are more than 4 to a family, they call it a town

...some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen down there, offset by extreme poverty...
