I would not pass up the childhood I had in exchange for what kids have today for anything.

We grew up in a different world. The kids today will look back when they are our age and probably say the same thing. The times they are a changin'...

I really liked that! So true in many ways, but the past was not perfect, just like today is not!

I'd like to be growing up now so I'd have several more decades to enjoy life!

We used to cruise up to a local parking lot to hang-out with the girls. A few weeks ago I drove to a local strip mall only to find a guy and girl standing next to their car talking on their cell phones instead of to each-other. Gotta love it.

About the growing up years, sure there were days, weeks, months that were not the best, but for me without any of the things the children of today have, they were the best days of my life. Not a care and the only danger was from doing things that may have caused a few injuries. Our parents knew where we were and that we were safe even if they were not around us. The worst thing was disappointing them by doing something real stupid. Got a few spankings, but well deserved, and still respected my parents and never did those things again like at 6 yrs old filling up the old Chevy with water from the hose so that my Dad didn't have to go to the fillin' station to get gas!

Ah, the good old days and yes they really were! More toys and possessions and a lot smarter now, but never as much fun as growing up in the early 50's and 60's.
