Adding another new toy to the stable. Picking her up in the next few hours. This thing rides like a dream!
I can't wait to get it in my garage!

Love it....
I've been debating on getting a V-Rod.....but couldn't justify spending that much money and having no time to ride it!
Where's the goatee?

The vrod is nice, but I don't fit that bike very well. Next time you're in town try and take Davids for a spin, then you'll be hooked.

Ron - if you just wear your thong and sunglasses,,,,,,you would fit perfect on the V-Rod.

I'd like to have one [HD V-Rod],,,,but, like the good Doctor,,,don't have the time to ride it much.

Congratulations 01Prowler!

Just curious, why is your bike a "her"..and why did you go for the Deluxe and not a "Bagger"??

I'm OK with my Deluxe..but looking back on it..I wish I would have looked more closely at a Road King...

I'm VERY pleased with the optional "Jack Security System"

Thanks!

As far as the bike being a "her" I guess it was just the way I was taught. Boats are women, as well as airplanes, and cars, why not the bike too!

As far as my choosing the Deluxe, it just fit me the best. It is one of the few bikes that I can actually flat foot! I'm only 5'8". I think that the ride is excellent, and the bike just fits me perfectly.
A friend of mine bought a Road King custom a few months ago, and he loves it. I have ridden his several times to see if I liked it, but I just felt like the bike was way too bulky for me. I just couldn't really seem to get comfortable on it.

I test rode a Deuce as well, but I just kept coming back to the Deluxe. I think the Deluxe is by far the most classy motorcycle built by HD at the moment.

Why are you having second thoughts on yours?

I also noticed in one of your pictures it looks like you have a different seat installed, is it much better than stock?

'01..

I'll try to answer your questions.

The stock saddle looks way cool but the comfort level sucks. Also, I am 5'11" and the stock sadle forced me way too "tight" towards the handle bars. I purchased the H.D. "Tall Boy" seat and it's as comfortable as it is ugly.

I went with the 95" BB kit with 204 cams, Race Tuner, S.E. pipes and heads ported and polished before "it" left the dealer.

It just seems like a "bagger" is where most folks end up for ride comfort? The 88 motors in the baggers don't seem to "buzz" at highway speeds like the 88B motors that are found in the softails. Plus, no radio no cruise control and no dual front disks. The Road Kings are just a WAY better value. But you're right..there is a whole level of heft and bulk associated with the FLHR's than the softails.

Keep it on TWO WHEELS ...
Ride Safe!

I've got a 96 heritage, only an 80 with crane cams, vance and hines pipes and the carb kit. Yes it buzzez at 75. Also, there's nothing soft about a softtail. I'll probably opt for a bagger just to have a radio and some working suspension...
