Earlier last month I purchased and received an item on Ebay that was not as described and I used PayPal. The seller did not respond to my e-mails. As per suggestions from POAers, I made a formal complaint with PayPal and received my refund today. I have bought and sold about 100 items on E-bay and have a 100% rating. I felt that if I left this seller a negative feedback, he would do the same to me whether it was deserved or not. Using PayPal and it's protocol resolved my issue and returned my money. |

You were lucky it doesn't usually work that way. Feedback is a joke. You get screwed and leave feedback indicating the seller is bad and they use feedback for revenge saying you are the bad guy. Some sellers are just idiots and scam artists and they bank on the fact that they can steal your money not send you anything and they know you won't leave negative because you don't want unjustified negative left on you. Paypal is owned by e-bay and very poorly handled, if you use Paypal use your credit card and you have recourse through it, 80% of the time you will get no or little help from e-bay or Paypal. Used to be when you signed up for a Paypal account with e-bay their agreement included a statement that you had to agree to indicating even if you used your credit card you could not contest it, in other words your money was gone. The credit card companies stepped up and said. NO! You can't do that we give our customers the right to contest anything they charge on their card and if you (Paypal) want to do business with us you cannot and will not take that right away from our customers. Not feeling they wanted to lose that part of their business or be in court they backed off on that one pretty quick. Since you did get some help from Paypal I hope you went out and bought a lottery ticket that day because it was your lucky day. |

I agree with nitrosteve,I have had good luck until I recently purchased a car.Car was no way in condition seller advertised and then could not get title.Seller advised he had 30 days to provide by law in his state.I went to ebay and they said to allow more time it had been 35 days.I ask about the progam they offered for 20,000.00 protection and that is a joke since they refered me to a insurance co.that covers that which also was a joke.I finaly recieved a title which was not accepted by DMV since it had changes made to.This has still not been cleared up and ebay suggest I sue seller. |

There are lots of guys that claim to have great luck on E-bay.... lets face it... its a bit like gambling and i work to hard for the little bit of money i make to take the chances... i'd sooner do without than take the risk... and I just can't afford to fly all over the country breaking peoples legs... just my opinion.. |

I have had good luck with ebay. I haven't purchased anything for a while. The thing I don't like about paypal is they only allow you to use your credit card up to a certain limit. Then you have to link it to a bank account. Once you do that then your money is gone and there is no credit card company on your side. |

I do Ebay everyday and it has its ups and downs (If you have a few days I can tell you all about it) Well with all the downs, I sold $12,300 in small car parts last month and should get a NEGATIVE soon because I did not supply tracking #s for 1 auction before I went out of town for the www.semashow.com . He put in a claim in with PayPal to refund his money, Now the item is on the way to him and he has his money back. I have a over 750 positives. I have one neutral because the guy did not get his stuff the next day?????? and 3 negatives because of non paying bidders NOT ME??? LOL.... Drop me a line if you need help on Ebay.
