Both at home and at work I have a scroll button on my mouse. I have got used to using it at work and I never have a problem. However when I use it at home after a while my screen will start jumping up and down uncontrollably by itself. I can only stop it by re booting. Any idea what is causing this on my home computer?

Had that happen to me one time also. Dang, I can't remember now how I cured it. Let me check my Windows For Dummies. I bet it's in there. Be right back.........OK, I'm back. If you are running Windows XP: Left click on Start(bottom left corner of the screen). Then left doubleclick on Control Panel. Then left doubleclick on Mouse. When the small window opens look at the tabs at the top. Last tab will say...Hardware. Click on hardware tab. At the bottom there will be two buttons. Troubleshoot, and Properties. Try the troubleshoot button and follow their wizard. That should give you the answer you need.

Had a similar problem a long time ago. Only fix was to replace the mouse.

BGG's technique probably gets you here, but check to see if there is a more updated driver for the mouse. Try finding the manufacturer's web site and using the model number that's typically somewhere on the mouse.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, then I'm with wuzzer on replacing it.

Hope that helps Rich.
