I was looking at the new Pontiac Solstice forum, and I noticed this quote from a new Solstice owner. These are the actual words in the quote.

Help my hood fall. When opening the hood it will not stay up, gas shocks must be weak. Has any one had this on there car.

I guess the Prowler is not the only car that has this problem.

By the way, this is a great looking car.

Howard - as a member of the Solstice forum,,,,I read that post the other day. I was going to comment, but most of those members are a bunch of young geeks or old duffs who know nothing about cars,,,,so why bother to explain to them. The people at the POA website are much more car enthusiasts, and understand the workings of most general car functions. Those people can't even figure out the operation of the manual soft top.

I've seen over 25 Solstices now,,,,and I've decided against buying one - front fog lamp holes and rear backup light holes are as large as a bowling bowl,,,,looks terrible. They are having a problem with severe wrinkles in the soft top material sides where it extends back to the rear latch points. Whining noises from the transmissions. Door handles have pulled right out of the door on the outside Rumor has it the GM has stopped production to fix problems, and are holding up cars already in transit. Looks to me that GM rushed another car to completion,,,aka, Vega. But,,,they are priced right for buyers in the low-end sports car class. You aren't paying much,,,,aren't getting much either,,,aka, Fiero.

Guess we should be happy with our center caps and window regulators, lol.

reminded me of a good one....I stopped to look at a Crossfire vert a year or so ago.....the salesman was unable to show me how the top worked....he never did figure it out.....started to sprinkle rain, so he rushed the car to the service bay so it wouldn't get wet inside....I left...
