I've posted pictures of my car on the web..some include the license plate. I've noticed that on TV and some places on the web that the plates are usually blocked out or distorted so they can't be read. I know there's probably some security reason for this, but I'm not for certain what it is. Should I (we) be more careful with our license plates??

Plates are easiest to trace so someone wanting to locate you or steel your car just makes their job easier.
