Not getting them here, I did find several spyware programs on my system earlier though.

I switched to firefox browser long ago... cut WAY down on all my pop-ups regardless of where I am... rarely get any on POA.
However, if/when I open with IE then they come like flies to a cow patty....

Wildcat,

No popups here...

It reads like you got spyware in your system. Whatever site you visited loaded up on your harddrive.

No pop-ups, no purple cat in DPena's new display, either.

Almost certainly spyware.
Go to Google (or any search engine) and search for either "Spybot" or "Adaware". Both are spyware removal tools and work very well. Go to the appropriate website and download and install the software. Both are free, but they ask for donations (I consider a donation money well spent). After installation on your computer, run the "update" feature to make sure that it has the latest spyware definitions and then run the software to check your system. It will flag any spyware it finds and will remove any spyware you want removed. Be carefull using the "immunization" feature in Spybot as it may block some things that you want. P.S. Be sure to look at the "Readme" file that comes with the software.

BTW: You may be amazed at how much spyware is on your system.

Mr. Monahan,

There is purple but it looks more like mud since the pixel count is so low.

Although I don't usually endorse beta software, the Microsft AntiSpyware relaease is a great package. I've used both Spybot and AdAware and I think the MS product blows both of them away - at least the free versions. Download it from http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Dan, on the slower version I can see it plainly. On the original you can see a split second hesitation between high voltage and yellow but cannot read the word Purple.

Larry,

If you have a friend in town that "works in computers", I would call him. I would concur on the Spyware ...
