I'd estimate this guy to be around 55 or 60 years old. Judging from the condition of his tusks this guy hasn't done much work or fighting.

Thanks for sharing all the great photos.

I think that about put going to Africa on the top of my list of places to visit next.

Who do you book your safaris through? Or do you just handle it all yourself as you go?

Since I lived in Botswana for several years, I normally make my own bookings because I know where I want to go and what I want to do... If you're interested I can hook you up with a great travel agency in Botswana that can make arrangements for the Okavango Delta camps, Chobe game park (home to the world's largest elephant herds) and other destinations.

For South Africa, I have my favorite places, but as Russell will tell you, there are also many many private game reserves that are great. Cape Town is a fantastic way to end any journey to Africa, but plan to spend at least three days there, especially if you enjoy world class wines!
