I have a question concerning the Search function.

Just say hypothetically you want to search the topic, Air Condition Repair. This is just an example I came up with, but it could be a search on any subject.

You put the word Air Condition Repair in the search line. You then have several options to choose from.

You choose Forum - Technical Questions. You choose any date. This gives you an option of looking at a maximum 200 posts on this subject. You look at these posts and see most of them were posted within a time period of 2000-2002. You do not find what you are looking for. You then do a search again on Air Condition repair and choose the option Since Last Year.

Now, 100 topics might show up. You still don't find what you are looking for.

My question is, how do you find a post that someone said they saw several years ago about Air Condition repair that was maybe posted in 2003 or 2004 when only 200 posts are shown.

I know this probably won't happen often. Also is it possible to do a search by year?

Thanks

Howie - my first guess would be to list a member's name in the SEARCH,,,,,use someone who posts often [unlike me] about Prowler technical questions,,,like GRROWL or Ed for example. I usually 'search' ALL forums to find a question I might have,,,,not just the forum you would think it may be in. Also,,type in the word 'problem' instead of repair. Most people who post looking for an answer,,,,say they have a 'problem'.

Good advice, if he used PROBLEM and ALLEY CAT in the same search, it could tie up his computer for days. lol
