the Monster mile in Dover plays host to Todays Race...lots of rage, bump & grind and a multitude of wrecks. it will be interesting to see if all the hard feelings from last weeks race will be put aside after all the warnings and fines that were imposed........ not likely...
heres the results of that mess

Robbie Gordon and Michael Waltrip crashed, with Gordon getting the worst of it. Gordon tried to retaliate under caution, backing his car toward Waltrip's, but missing and nearly hitting series points leader Tony Stewart instead. The frustrated Gordon then climbed from his car, waited for Waltrip to come around again behind the pace car and threw his helmet at Waltrip's car.

That resulted in Gordon being fined $35,000 and docked 50 points and Kahne fined $25,000 and losing 25 points.

Waltrip was fined $10,000 and 25 pints for using an obscene gesture, and his car owner, Teresa Earnhardt, was penalized 25 points.

Why do i think that one of these guys not in the chase are going to ruin it for someone that is...

my top five today:

Newman, Rusty, Tony, Martin, Kurt Busch

wax my back, floss my toof, and take me racing...!!!!

I predict we will see more of the same, fines or not. I like your picks Jim, I have the 12 in the pool this week. My boy Bobby usually runs good here. It will be fun. Been to this track a few times. Awesome joint.

Newman's win last week, and the pole this week,,,,has Lethia's chest size expanding quickly, lol.

AC's picks:

Rusty or Mark to win whichever one gets the best pit stop service

Biffel and Kennseth finish in the top five

Darkhorse pick,,choke, choke,,,Jr in the 8 Ball

I'm thinking lots of revenge driving this day,,,,with mega $$$ worth of cars being junked,,,,,,gotta love it! Nascar needs to chill on the fines, and provide the gloves for post race action, lol. Let's get ready to rumble,,,,,,

"wax my back, floss my toof, get the six pak out, a bag of jerky, smokes nearby, the Lazyboy extended,,,,,, and take me racing"

Fifth place with Newman didn't hurt my pool today. Not as much craziness as I thought today. Are they afraid of the fines? I don't think so. JJ looking good. I will miss NOT being in Talladega next week. Only second time in alot of years not going. Say what you want about those lousy plates, it is still a rush being there.

only because Mark Martin's crew chief chose to go with only two new tires that last pit stop,,,30 laps from the end. That cost Mark the race. Bad call,,,he had the car but not the tires. Still a good race

i have heard many people say that Kyle Petty is a top notch guy...i always hope he does well but luck hardly ever seems to go his way..... a great showing by #45 today..

i've seen a few of the crews go for 2 tires near the end and very seldom see it work out...
funny they keep trying...

Rusty is being very consistant....i hope he wins the Championship......a great way to go out...

last lap is the only one that counts AC--JJ led for most of the year before the rousch team found something. Glad to see Kyle get something. Their team has been down for so long..I wonder how the sponsers hang in...must be more to it

Kyle and his wife Patty give a ton of their time and $ to The Victory Gang Junction Camp for serious ill children in Trinity, NC. They and Richard started this in honor of Adam, Kyle's son who was killed at Loudon, NH in practice 4 years ago. The proceeds of his motorcyle ride "Ride Across America" go to this camp. I sponsor (donate the gas) a fill up point (a stop to get gas) when their route goes close to one of our stations.

A very giving family!

NASCAR officials confiscated rear shocks from six Nextel Cup teams following Sunday's MBNA 400 at Dover, Del., and plan to begin testing them Tuesday.
Among the teams that had shocks taken: Race winner Jimmie Johnson; Johnson's Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Busch, who finished second; Ryan Newman, who finished fifth; and his Penske Racing South teammate, Rusty Wallace, who finished sixth.

Two Roush Racing teams - those of Mark Martin and Greg Biffle - also had rear shocks taken.

NASCAR officials took the shocks after several crew members and crew chiefs, watching the post-race inspection process, complained about the right-rear of the No. 48 and the team's attempt to clear post-race inspection, several witnesses to the incident said.

NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston confirmed Monday night that NASCAR had taken rear shocks from the six teams after post-race inspection.

He also confirmed the Nos. 48 and 5 Chevrolets did not meet the required right-rear quarter panel height on their initial measurement in inspection, but after allowing the cars to settle, they made the required height.

"All cars going through inspection had their rear shocks taken to ensure they were in compliance with our shock rules," Poston said. "We want to be sure everything is being done right."

During the race itself, several drivers - Dale Earnhardt Jr., Rusty Wallace and Kyle Busch - made references to the rear-end height of the Nos. 48 and 5 Chevrolets.

During one caution period, Earnhardt Jr. had the following conversation with crew chief, Tony Eury Jr.:

"Man, that 5 car (Kyle Busch) is really jacked up in the back," Earnhardt Jr. said.

"Yeah, you could fit a fence post under there," Eury Jr. replied.

"Yeah. Something's going on there," Earnhardt Jr. said.

Late in the race under caution, Kyle Busch made the following comment to his crew chief Alan Gustafson over the team radio:

"Remind me about the 48 right-rear after he race," Busch said.

"10-4, will do it," Gustafson replied.

Poston declined to comment on the radio calls or complaints from other teams about the rear-end height of the Nos. 48 and 5.

Thet wouldn't do anything unethical with the shocks on purpose ,would they. How come Jeff didn't get the "good" shocks?

I was thinking that if he knew, he opted out Tom. Pretty smart of Kyle to announce it on the radio.

At this point in the Chase, deducting points would be huge. Fines would be easier to swallow for Hendrick, but the rest of the teams are gonna scream.
