Did anyone else follow the ROCK STAR: INXS 'new lead singer' auditions?

I'm probably a party of one--again--but I watched every episode...sometimes 2 or 3 a week, initially...while 15 would-be FRONT men [and women] tried out to be the NEW lead singer of INXS. Last night, after 12-weeks of auditioning, "J D Fortune", from Canada, was chosen from the 15 to lead the group forward following the suicide of the original front man--Michael Hutchins! I have always LOVED rock n roll, still to this very day [60], still very much a HARD ROCKER! Surely, of all the Prowler members, there must be a scant few others who ROCK! Come forth and reveal yourselves or forever hide behind your weekenders~LOL!!

LONG LIVE ROCK n ROLL!

I watched most of it also. I thought that Meg might win but I guess he was a bit too polished for a real hard rock and roll band . The girls were pretty good also. I was hoping they would take the "Stage Band" along with the top 6 or so and have them go on tour with them. They were really hot also.

Yes, Mig came in #3, followed by Marty as runner up #2, who was asked to OPEN for the group (on occasion) when they go on World Tour! Suzie was the last female to get the axe--and had a great voice, I agree. But could you seriously see INXS selecting any woman to front their band? The 'house band' was awesome, as you mentioned! I will miss seeing them weekly! There was something 'special' about each & every entrant IMHO! Glad 'someone' else viewed this fantastic show!!

LOL,
just NOW found this post and I can verify as witness, that Mr. Tytanium-K is a bonified ROCKER.............hell, he still wears his HAIR like a Rocker LOL

As to the INXS show it was great - MY personal pick dropped out a while ago (Jordis) / she was a GREAT singer but in retrospect I agree that she wouldn't have been the "right" person for INXS

I thought the band might think JD was too young for them. It will be interesting to see what direction the band takes in the future. Their first new song - performed at the end of the show - Easy, Easy - is very much like their old music and while "easy" for INXS fans to recognize did not seem to be leading them into new musical territory.

I thought they would choose Marty. I agree Suzie had the best voice of any of the potention lead singers. I think we will see several of the final choices get recording contracts or be picksed up by other bands.

Brooke Burke was a Swim Suit model and pageant queen. She hosted "Wild On" series on E! a few years ago and is getting divorced from a plastic surgeon that does work on the show Extreme Makeover.

Thanks Marty! I did think a BLONDE front-man would be more the "eye-catcher", myself...but JD came in KNOWING he wanted to be THE INXS LEAD SINGER, which he stated more than once! Caught hell for it, but, the entrants were NOT THERE to win a popularity contest w/ each other, so JD had (has) the right idea from the get-go. Some would say 'cocky' but, the talent is present AND the band recognized it! So, as time progresses, we shall ALL see if they made the right choice--for them.

Thx for the info on BB, I had NO CLUE who she was/where she came from/what her credentials were, etc.

Anyone happen to have a clip of the episode where the song "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd was performed? I heard it was awesome.

Great Show. I think they picked the right guy, but they were all very talented. I really liked Susie.

"Sweet Suzie McNeil" as Dave Navarro always said whenever she sang! Suzie McNeil from Toronto, Ontario, Canada...may she do well wherever she is!

ROCK ON ~ Sweet Suzie McNeil!!
Suzie's Bio
A native of Toronto, Suzie McNeil was born into a musical family. She was practically raised singing with her mother and sister, learning to collaborate from a very early age.

From that foundation, Suzie evolved into a versatile, powerful artist, who combines a magnetic stage presence with vocal and multi-instrumental (piano, guitar, harmonica) proficiency. It's no wonder Suzie has already achieved that rarest of goals -- working full-time as a professional musician -- for the last five years.

Keeping Toronto as her home base, Suzie has compiled impressive record of musical accomplishments. These range from live gigs with some of Canada's top acts (Alan Frew, Garth Hudson, Ronnie Hawkins) to lucrative commercial jingles to an ongoing starring role as Agnetha in the musical tribute show "Abba Mania," which she has performed in front of crowds of up to 15,000 people.

But Suzie hasn't lost her attraction to original material. She continues to perform under the name Jackrabbit (her rock/soul alter ego), and has collaborated on several projects with fellow Canadian's Sean Cotton and songwriter/drummer, Alison Maclean.

Now, Suzie is eager to put all of her life's experience and ambition to the ultimate test. She knows that she'll need the wisdom gained from each of her varied accomplishments, as well as the inspiration of some of her musical idols (Etta James, Pink Floyd, Queen) in order to prevail. But in her heart, she knows she is destined to be the next great rock star.

In the beginning....The Original Group!!

My wife and I watched every episode.

I thought Mig had it locked in.

My wife figured it out though, Mig is a performer and is very good at "immitating" other performers. He did not seem to have much style of his own, Whereas JD and Marty had their own style going.

I agree that they got the right guy in JD.

I am looking forward to the next INXS album in November.
