I took my Prowler out for a ride, put down the top and pushed the button on my radio to CD mode, and started to play Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits.

I have to say, she had a great voice. I cranked up the volume as loud as I could with out blowing the speakers. All I could hear was the music. When I arrived home my son was outside and he heard the music. He said Dad, that music is terrible. I tried to explain to him who Janis Joplin was, but he had no interest in hearing about her.

Here are some of the songs on the album. I am sure many Prowler owners remember these songs.

Piece of mMy heart
Summertime
Try (Just a little bit harder)
Cry baby
Me and Bobby McGee
Down on me
Get it while you can
Bye, bye baby
Move over
Ball and chain

I love her music and about a year ago I bought a box set of all of her remastered CDs. Never saw her on stage which I'm sure was something to see...

All great songs from a great era! If only her and Jimmi had lived.

"Summertime" is my favorite....

the girl could sing....

Hendrix was great, but I really missed Jim Morrison the most of the trio....the Doors were my favorite for several decades....I still like their music, just kinda tired of oldies the last few years....

the hotel room on the first floor with the open curtains is where she died....the room is available to rent for a few $$$ more...if you don't ask about her, it is available for the regular price...

you can also rent the room Jim Morrison rented on Norton St, while he lived in LA ...it is just a few blocks behind the Whiskey...weird scenes inside the goldmine....

I am more of a Dire Strait/REO Speedwagon type...but I liked Joplin too! Like TUIB...I'm gett'n a little tired of the "oldies" although I am still a big Krazy Kats fan...went to MU with them...they are 3 local guys that formed the band in 1958...if you are interested...go to krazykats.net to read about them.
