Has anyone seen the commercial for Lunesta, the sleep aid? One of the side effects are, get this, drowsiness. Who would of thunk it?

Some of the medical commercials kill me.........after they get through telling you what a great drug it is and what it can do for you.........then they tell you the possible side effects and if you are this or that you shouldn't take it......makes you wonder why you should even condsider taking them!!! I like the fact that they tell you the name of the drug and advise you to ask the doctor if it is right for you. They don't even tell you what it is used for. I am sure the doctors love that from all the hypachondriacs out there. My doctor got so mad at me I had to find a new obstetrician.

U.S. FDA laws require that if you list one benefit of a compound, you MUST LIST ALL SIDE-EFFECTS in any kind of promotion and they must be of equal significance. First ran into this back in the 90’s creating a marketing presentation for the Lilly sales staff for a new compound. Once the legal department got a hold of it, we doubled the slides and had to enforce showing the negative if the positive was presented. No offence, but it’s better than misleading medical commercials. Can you image the liberties these companies would take without this enforcement?

whealy, I'm not saying they shouldn't tell you, I'm just saying that all the side effects make you wonder if you should be taking it. I realize that not everyone will experience the side effects, but you sure don't know if you will.Recently, while I was in NC handling the situation with the break-in at my son's home, I was suffering from a bad sinus infection which started during Dream Cruise. I wasn't able to get to my Dr. before I left (the next day). He called in a prescription to a pharmacy down there. When I read the information on the prescription when I picked it up, it listed possible side effects like vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach and blurring of the eyesight and double vision. I'm standing there very concerned.....mosting about the double vision and wondering whether I should actually take it or not.......if it was worth the risk.....it can be scary!!

YES...you have to tell all the side effects of a drug! Remember the Viagra commercial with "Wild Thing" looking at the shop window with his (wife?) and seeing the flimsey nighty and he turned into "Wild Thing"...that commercial was taken off the air because it did NOT list side effects. The Cialis commercials tell about the side effects (benefits ) "If errection lasts longer than four hours seek medical attention immediately"...HIDE YOUR WOMEN!!

I think ALL the medications agree one one thing. Do not take if you are pregnant or think you MAY be pregnant. How does a pregnant woman get ANY medicine prescribed?

One medicine said that it may cause ANAL LEAKAGE! I don't know what the medicine cured, but I think I would prefer the problem over the side effect any day!

That wasn't a medicine, it was Olestra, the stuff in fat free potato chips. The brand name on those chips is "WOW". Now you know how they came up with the name.
