Oprah continues to nauseate me ... her latest ... she was "snubbed" at the high-end Hermes store in Paris ... by not being admitted 15 minutes AFTER closing and due to the fact they had a PR event taking place inside. So what does this mighty Oprah do, is she understanding ... NOOOO she says it was "racially motivated" (I bet Jesse Jackson will be all over this one too!). And she "plans to talk about her MOST EMBARRASSING situation when her show begins airing again in the Fall .... COME ON ... Another troubling sign of our times ... Oprah is now so full of her own BS and hype that people should bow to her EVERY whim .... Question ... how many of you get admittance to stores 15 minutes AFTER closing .... do you EXPECT to get in? Are you REALLY embarrassed when turned away (and I read where the sales person was quote polite and apologetic too). Sorry ... really frosts my clock ... <sigh> |

Ray - I'm going to step out onto the plank and agree with you  O.W. makes me ill,,,,,,makes multi-millions $$$ and thinks the world owes her more. She can retire to Africa at any time, and take care of 'her' world. Its not racial,,,,its her personality and political views that anger me. Jessee Jackson,,,,don't even start me on him. "Retire to Africa"? "Take care of 'her' world"? Amazing! Anyone who is a BILLIONAIRE and has a $50 Million dollar "summer home" is ALREADY retired, and as such (BILLIONAIRE), "her world" consists of a very small percentage of people who, I guarantee, don't look like or resemble her. She could retire to NORWAY for that matter. As a proud Prowler owner, from "her" world, I too can say that I find her nauseating; and in a world where the "race card" is over-played, I will wait for more info before I form an opinion about her experience in Paris. However, if her account is accurate, it should serve as a "reality check" for her, that no matter how much money/influence you have.......you know the rest. I just purchased my second Prowler (2000/Black) after buying my first in February (2002/Yellow), and one of the things that I enjoy most is the smiles and "thumb's up" from people of all backgrounds. It was the similar goodwill and comraderie that I found on this board, that eventually prompted me to purchase these amazing vehicles. Oh yeah, before I forget, Oprah owns TWO PROWLERS, both are kept at her ranch in Indiana. Which world that puts her in, I don't know. just venting |
