Manny, I would not try to sway your decision on moving to the Sunshine State, I wouldn't live anywhere else in the world. Actually it looks worse than it was. The only damage we suffered was a couple of bent rails on the pontoon, and lost one downspout. If you check out the way the homes are built, you should survive the hurricanes with only minor issues. The homes that are built like Shi- took some beating. This one was built with a flowthrough under the home and stayed high and dry.

No, It only rained here for about 5 minutes, and then cleared up and has been a fantastic weekend with a beautiful breeze and loads of sunshine.

Ed, we were the ones that hit on Wed late afternoon with hail. I was driving home in my truck and it came down. At first I thought the first sound was rock from the truck ahead, but alas, more of those little ice balls came down from the sky. Luckily, I stopped real quick under a tree by the side of the road and watched as the tree leaves covered my truck in a minute or so. Now between yesterday and this morning we are getting 5 inches of rain with more on the way. Great way to end the month of May.

The experts did say if we got more than 6" of rain this month that we will not see any hurricanes this year here! That I cannot believe especially since Dr Gray just announced his latest updated prediction yesterday. 2 more named storms, 1 more hurricane and 1 more intense hurricane than the previous prediction and a 59% chance of landfall on the east coast from the Keys to NC.

Chow down good buddy!

Wally

Sandy's son called from Ft. Lauderdale or Miami while driving in the hail. Sandy said the racket was unbelievable. Then he drove out of it and gave a big "whew" at which time it started up again.
Are car insurance rates high in Fla. due to the extreme weather at times?
Glad everyone made it thru it okay.
