Norm is probably right,,,,,,,,,,,,,,while Danica is fast, has the right equipment [Rahal/Honda], is aggressive, she still lacks the experience to run wheel to wheel at 220 mph. I wish the Az gal the very best, but I'd look for the winner to come from these three: Dan Weldon, V. Mira, or Sam Hornish. Anything can happen during the 500, so its any one driver's race to win and the one million+ $$$ prize.

Rain is in the forecast today at Indy. Hope it starts on time and they can get the 500 miles in before the rains hit hard later in the day.

...I think it is time for a lady driver to surprise us and do very well, but I doubt she will win...

things that will help Danica...
...there are no parallel parking issues during the race...
...you can't see the shopping malls from inside the oval....
...turn signals aren't necessary during the race...
...her cell phone won't be able to get a good signal inside the track...
...the car doesn't need a key to start....
...she doesn't have to change her own tires...
...the cars all go one direction, less likely to back into another race car...

Somewhere in Alley Cat's achieves of taped previous Indy 500's,,,,,,I have the incident where Al Unser Sr. hit a jack rabbit on the back stretch at over 230mph,,,during the race. In slow motion, the big jack explodes into a million pieces. Didn't slow the speed of the car down at all,,,,,wonder if they had rabbit for diner after the race, lol.

right now the sun is shining........remember last year through and we had tornados looks like a better day today. If the rain comes in as expected it will be a shortened race and if delayed probably would not get in tomorrow they are calling for rain almost all day......but roight now it looks like a good race day

They had on the news last night the girl has an unfair advantage. Now they are complaining she only weighs 100 lbs making her car lighter. They are talking as if they need to put a weight restriction on her. From the film footage of her if you look at her when she doesn't think the cameras are on her she isn't the sweet little girl they are making her out to be

Robby Gordon is trying to make a big deal out of the weight issue. He says it gives her a 1mph advantage over the male drivers if you figure they out weigh her by 100 pounds. She is s rookie with good equipment, but I don't see how the weight issue is that big a deal. If that is the case then the fastest car should always win...yeah like that happens all the time.

Excuse me AC ... while she may take up residence in AZ currently, it is purely for year-round track time - just as Arie Luendyke does (home is Holland though) -- Lil Ms Patrick is from Roscoe, IL ... which is just north of Rockford on the IL/WI boarder (very close to Bryden Motors as a matter of fact). She left there at 16 to go to Euprope to pursue her racing career. So really, she's an Illinois gal and I think she will finish top 3 IF car holds together and she doesn't wreck in the first 50 laps.

What is Robbie Gordons excuse in the cup series,He can't even get into a lot of races because he is to slow.I think he should keep his mouth shut.

Ray - you are rrrrighttttt,,,god, that was awful to cough out about you being right, lol.

Arie, Mika, and family have lived here since the kids were little,,,,,I'm sure he'd tell you that he is an official Arizonian [Zonie]. Danica, her mother Bev and father TJ live here now,,,and once here in God's Country, they don't ever go back [except to visit]

********************************************************

Wildcat and tangled - thanks for the weather info,,,,,hope they get it finished today.

********************************************************

Danica is doing alright. I remember Jacques Villeneuve
being "two laps" down at Indy one year,,,,and winning the race. Anything can happen!

Well,,,,,,it came down to 'lack of experience' for Danica. Under yellow flag condition,,trying to heat up tires, lost it, and caused three or four other cars to wreck.

Ray - yes,,,,she is from Illinois.
She needs some more seat time with Bob Hacker as her instructor.
