I'm surprised no one posted that Eddie Albert died yesterday of pneumonia. He was most famous for his role with Zsa Zsa Gabor in Green Acres, but was also in the Original The Longest Yard ... great actor!

Didn't hear about it. He was one of my favorites. Another one leaves us.

age 99........that stupid 'Green Acres' show still makes me laugh.....it is extremely funny in a silly sort of way.....what a period in television.... ...his television wife, Lisa Douglas, was played by Eva Gabor, one of the three Gabor sisters.....she pased away about 10 years ago from food poisoning.... ps....there were many Arnold Ziffles, the first was butchered and consumed...as the series got more famous, they used a new Arnold every few months so they would always look the same size....the later pigs playing Arnold never again attended a cook out as the main course!!! They said this morning that he modeled his portrayal of the warden in the original "Longest Yard" after Richard Nixon.

Definitely a was a great actor !!! How many remember seeing the episode of Green Acres when he had to get his apples to the market on time when the truck that they were driving happened to blow a head gasket. It's amazing cuz it took him only about 5 minutes, on the side of the road to pull the head. Anyway...just after the head was pulled they both went for lunch. Lisa was showing the cook at the diner how to make the hotcakes that Oliver loved so much. Picture this...she poured a large portion of pancake batter over the top of the flat surfaced stove. She then proceeded to cut out the hotcakes with a large circular cookie cutter. She just happened to cut out I believe, 4 of them. This gave Oliver a GREAT idea. He picked up the remaining sheet of cooked batter with the 4 holes cut in it...and wouldn't you know...he used that template as his NEW head gasket. How do you replace a classic show such as this...MORE REALITY SHOWS I SAY! Brian
