Well, the Memorial Day holiday weekend is coming up. What will you be doing to celebrate?

We are scheduled for the cottage, as usual, but the not-so-great part is they are calling for rain most of the week and weekend! Which of course means I wouldn't be driving the cats anyway!! Hoping the family will be with us, too.

Will also be honoring all Veterans, those who have lost their lives serving our country and those who are currently serving.

We will be visiting several cemetaries and decorating family graves. Not too glamourous, but it makes us feel better.

Since we live in a tourist area we are staying home to avoid the crowds and work around the house. I will also be going to the American Legion Post to honor fellow veterans. Sunday is race day.

Just finished putting 3,000 flags on veteran's graves with my Mom. She's been doing it for 71 years (save for a 3 year tour of duty during WWII). It takes the better part of a week to accomplish this as the cemetery is a public entity and not all veterans. Will probably accompany her to a Memorial Day service on Sunday & Monday.

She's a two time cancer survivor, and now challenged by diabetes. I'm saddened to state that many of my (Baby Boomer) generation just don't share the passion of true patriotism as her "gen" does..........

redman - shouldn't that say: Go look at a kat that is for sale, and then clean out the garage to make room for it???

That definitely sounds like a plan. Special thanks and prayers go out to all the living and deceased veterans that have served our country so well. Without you...this country wouldn't be what it is today!!!
