Colorado inventor Buck Weimer has marketed underpants that contain a charcoal filter to remove the unpleasant smell of intestinal gas. He invented them for his wife who suffers from an intestinal disorder called Crohn's disease. The odor-eating drawers, sold under the name Under Ease, are made from an airtight fabric and contain a vent hole filled with a removeable filter made of carbon and wool. Price: $24.95. The filter needs to be changed every 2 to 3 months depending on the volume and intensity of gaseous releases. Do Under Ease also eliminate the sounds associated with intestinal gas? "No", says Weimer, "this isn't a muffler".
