NASCAR race is today, in Phoenix. Fox Network,,,,5:00pm MST starting time. Thunder storms are predicted by late afternoon,,,,so this one "might" go to sunday afternoon???

Butch's guy Jiffy #24 on the pole.

Biffle won the Busch race last night,,,will be strong again today.

Get the beer and Subways out,,,and get ready for some door donuts. First, I need to remove my teeth, lol.

May the best Ford or Dodge win!

If they have just as many cautions as they did last night it would be a shame. Pure luck for the winner to stay out of harms way.

If it's a semi clean race, I pull for Little E.

My guy Biffle got caught up in a accident on pit lane,,,,while running 2nd to Busch at that moment. Those two Fords were the class of the field,,,knew one of them would win. Waltrip must have banged the walls five times during the last 10 laps. Poor performance for the Dodges today,,,,not there yet with that new body change.

Hour after the race,,,the heavy rains came. Got that race finished just in time.

Putting back in my teeth, and heading to bed

You guys better keep an eye on Carl Edwards. He is making some serious believers around here. If he had had another 25 laps, I bet he would have been right there in first or second. That flat tire early got him this time, but watch out next time!

I think young Carl is a natural tallent.. he really drove like a pro, especially the last 30 laps.... I figured he was going to be there at the end... he's up to 8th in the points standings.....

Rusty went from 3rd to 10th thanks to JJ#48...i guess that his way of staying on top.......a couple of early crashs will do him good..

OK,,,,,guys. I stay with ya on redneck racing,,,,,but now its time for F-1 racing back on network tv.

CBS,,,right now. F-1 from Italy,,,,,,no windows, no doors, no trunks, no roofs, no lugnuts, no fenders, no mechanics named Bubba,,,,,,,,,,open wheels @ 16,000 rpms.

The real deal Give it a shot!

Norm - new this year,,,,,no tire changes during the race, and engines 'must' be used for two consecutive races. This is a move to cost down costs and improve parity among the teams. Hard to imagine a 950 hp engine turning up to 19,ooo rpms can last two races,,but it must. The key to F-1 racing is the technology involved,,far exceeds any other form of racing.

*******************************************************

It was a good race,,,hope you F-1 newbies enjoyed it.

Guys....

I know this is a stupid request but I need a little lesson on the differences and the Past history of the Indy Racing League...

what is the difference between the F1 and the Indy... besides the fact thatIndy is mostly USA based and F1 isn't...

just a quick summary would be great... I've lost touch over the years ... used to be a great fan.. many years ago...

thanks

jim

ps: isn't the F1's the bunch that races on road course tracks where its almost impossible to pass unless someone breaks...?

Jimbo - Keeping it short,,,F-1 is the mega bucks racing for a world wide audience. Over the top high-tech teams, engines, designs, etc. Race only road courses and draw the cream of the crop of race drivers,,,,,argumentative for sure.

Indy Racing League [IRL] - a breakaway from the old CART circuit,,,formed to promote American drivers racing on grass roots oval tracks, in similar lower cost race cars and engines. Founded by Tony George [whose mother owns the Indianapolis Motor Speedway],,,because he couldn't control the venues of CART. The IRL barely survived the first three or four years, but because of the Indy 500 race and track ownership,,,and bowing to foreign born drivers and foreign made engine manufacturers,,,,he has made the IRL survive and flourish somewhat.

While the technology in Indy car racing is good,,,it by no means compares to the $$$ amounts spent in F-1 racing. Also, look at what Michael Schumacher gets paid to drive Ferrari's Marlboro car = reported to be $42 million per year for 16, 90 minute races......Not too bad of a pay scale, lol.

I enjoy both series!

Thanks my friend... great info !

I will watch it more often ... kinda like the sounds of the Indy boys...I find it easier to relate to locals...
and i like a race where there are more chances to pass....

what are the best F1 races to watch for a newbie like myself... best tracks ?

You never know....
i used to hate stock cars...untill i learned about it,
i was more into Drag racing....
