Ebay is in my opinion the only way to go. The amount of coverage you get for your buck can't be beat. You might not sell it first time out but you will get offers and follow up interested parties and if the boat is priced right to sell it will sell!
I know first hand as I have both bought and sold boats and cars (1964 Chris Craft 20' SuperSport & 2000 Prowler) on eBay with excellent results.
Ebay works!

I just sold a jetski on ebay. $30 to list $30 if it sells. I think it cost $5 to have a reserve price. Six days and it was sold. I had 25 people watching the auction, 15 emails, and 3 phone calls. I tried to sell a used truck in autotrader a couple years back and the ad ran for 6 months and I got one phone call. You can reach a much larger audience on ebay and the prices aren't that much more than if you went with an ad. I'm in MI and I sold it to a guy in NC, I drove 2 hours to meet him (he drove 9) and he promptly paid me cash. Overall the absolute quickest, headache free experience of selling a used anything. Now is the time to sell because everyone is having spring fever. Give it a try.

My son suggested Boattraderonline.com
I Sold my 38 Cigarette in about 2 weeks.
I would have never believed it, but the Web is the way to go!

Boattraderonline.com or Ebay would be first choice (ebay will give you an idea of what the market will pay), also might check the local marina's and leave either the boat or pictures for people to see.

good luck

thanks for the input
i'll check out boattraderonline.
ebay seems hit or miss to me, some boats lots of bids and sell, some boats no bids.
can't seem to tell why some sell and others don't

Some things sell due to a very low starting price, getting bidders interested. You need TWO (or MORE) to make it an auction. Otherwise it goes for the listing price. A good picture or two really helps along with a very well written description. Shipping or location also play into it.

I have sold two boats on this site (Boats USA)and the good part was you pay to list and ad runs until boat is sold or you cancel.Worked for me
