Realtor Translations

What they really mean.

“Easy Commute” = Located on freeway entrance ramp.
“Much Sought – After” = It’s been on the market at least twice before and no one wants it.
“Bedroom Community” = Neighbors gossip so much, you might as well invite them into your bedroom.
“Seclude Setting” =Far from everything convenient.
“Security System” = Current owner has a dog they are willing to sell with the house.
“Scenic View”= Of your neighbors pool.
“A Wealth Of Period Features”=Dry rot, leaky basement and an electrical service best operated in rubber gloves.
“Completely Upgraded” = Avocado dishwasher and harvest gold carpeting or visa versa.
“Fixer Upper”= Stay clear unless you have a lot of money.
“Sunny and Bright”=Curtains, blinds and other window treatments not included.
”Prestigious Neighborhood”= Filled with wealthy snobbish neighbors.
“Studio”= About the size of a peanut shell.
“Unique City Home”= Use to be a warehouse.
“Wide Open Floor Plan”=Previous owner removed supporting walls.
“Starter Home”= Run down, needs work.
“Rustic Charm”=Needs major structural repair.
“Park- like Setting”=There is a tree down the block on the left.
“Charming”=Snow White might fit, but five of the dwarfs might have to find their own place.
“You’ll love it”=No you won’t.
“Natural Setting”=The deer will eat anything you plant.
“And much, much more”=Can’t think of anything else to say about this heap.
“Low Maintenance”=No landscaping or grass.
“Deceptive Appearance”=It looks, really, really terrible.
“Estate”=50,000 acre ranch tract in Texas, 3-acre tract in Connecticut, and 1,500 square foot resident in New York City.
